After finally booking tickets for Dr. Strange in VIP, it was just a matter of find a place to chill around the area and The Duke of Kent was definitely that place to chill back with my wife, have a drink and order up dessert. The setting had the english pub and low light ambiance with minimal music blaring out,... More

Last week, I went to the Duke of Kent and ordered a large Bacon Caesar Salad. On the menu it says, “Fresh and fabulous! The perfect Caesar salad with garlic dressing, Grana Padano cheese, croutons and crumbled bacon. Served with a slice of bacon and a Grana Padano Crisp”. Must have been an “off” night for the chef. There was... More

Great atmosphere and excellent service. The stuff was very welcoming and friendly. I live just across the street so for me its a great place where I can go for drink, lunch and dinner. Their lunch menu is only about $10

This was our first lunch here. I had the turkey club with cheese and it was really good. Side caesar was good enough, too. My husband had the Greek salad and it, too, was solid! We love the casual atmosphere here, and the fact that the service can be as fast or as leisurely as you need. Lots of TVs... More

I went three times to this British pub one for lunch, twice for diner. Prices are moderate. It is in Younge Street close to Eglington tube station. The atmosphere and decoration is typical 1980s British public pubs/bars but the service is a bit slow. They have so many differentEuropean can or bottle beers as well as draft beers.

We popped in here tonight for a quick dinner before a movie and it was loud, and fun and packed. We were on a tight schedule and had 30 minutes, and despite everything being made from scratch and the place so busy, our server and the kitchen made it happen seamlessly. THAT is impressive, when so many restaurants cannot get... More

Classic English pub at Yonge & Eglinton. At least, my idea of an English pub, although I've never been to England let alone a real English pub. Lots of dark wood, small tables (also booths), good selection of beer and busy with smiling, talkative people having a good time. Except upstairs. Not so busy (empty actually, except for us for... Waitstaff need to not be so uptight and make customers feel welcome. Great range of beers and whiskey at the bar. Food is tasty and well presented. Different specials every day.

I live in the neighbourhood and have frequented this pub/restaurant for many years. The veggie burger is what I order most ... it really is the best in town.

This is my very favourite pseudo-British pub in Toronto. I love the ambience there, not loud so that you can enjoy chatting with your friends without raising your voice to be heard. They have a wide selection of beers (both on tap and bottles) and mixed drinks. Unlike many other pubs, you can get decent and relatively healthful meals at... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
