We have had schnitzel in Markham, east of Yonge, west of Yonge and basically anywhere we could find it. This is, by far, the best schnitzel in town. The cabbage rolls are delicious too. Have enjoyed the goulash soup, herring appetizer and red cabbage and mushroom sides. The owners are wonderful people who are caring and passionate about what they... More

Small, cozy run by a pleasant couple. Some of the best goulash in the city and good portion size. Helps warm one up on a cold wintery day.

We just love this place! I am German, living in Canada and let me tell you- I know how a Schnitzel has to taste like. The Schnitzel here are gigantic pork Schnitzel. The cucumber salad tastes like my mom's and the Crêpes for dessert are made to order with an amazing homemade apricot filling! If you are in the neighborhood,... More

Small restaurant with a plain interior in a strip mall on Kingston Road. Lots of schnitzel choices, as well as some other options and appetizers. The schnitzels were enormous, somewhat crispy and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Liquor is available also. Recommended

Food is great. Like mom makes. I've been to other Hungarian restaurants and the food wasn't as good as this. Menu is not expansive which is their strength. They are authentic and they keep it simple and do it well. I've been to Hungarian restaurants that wanted it to be considered "fine dining" by putting anything and everything on the... More

This is a no frill restaurant, at first glance you may not want to enter. The food is amazing, the husband and wife team do an amazing job of making you feel at home. From service to the food, you feel at home. The schnitzel is always perfectly cooked, the sides are all home made too. The price is reasonable,... More

Great food, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. It's a small and clean restaurant, and the owners were very friendly towards us. Definitely recommend it if you're in the neighborhood.

We have dined at this restaurant many times over the last five years. Although the menu is limited, the food is tasty and the portions plentiful. Our favourite dish is the Hunter Schnitzel served with the potatoes or spatzle (little dumplings). The restaurant is very small, but cozy. The desserts look good however we always seem to be too full... More

Utterly lean, juicy, cooked exactly done, 1/8" thick absolutely even, pounded (marks visible) slice of pork. Crust tasting of well-browned good-quality bread crumbs, s+p & neutral fat, stayed shatteringly crisp to the last bite. Fully enveloping the meat, NOT adherent, gummy or greasy. A Schnitzel that cannot be improved upon! Accompanying 2 scoops of potato salad (by request - menu... More

Unassuming from the outside, delicious from the inside. We had a huge House Schnitzel meal with cabbage and pickles side. They were open late which was a bonus for the weary traveler. Food was very tasty, prepared quick, very reasonable prices. Will keep in mind for future.

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Scarborough
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
