This is our first visit to the newly opened Khao San Road after they relocated from the nearby Adelaide site. The restaurant is almost hidden at the lobby of a building. It is much brighter than the previous location and is somewhat larger. We arrived just after they opened at 5 and were able to get a private table (as... More

My friends and I were a foursome for dinner tonight at five. We had an industry event just a block away that started at 6PM and I told everyone in our party that they only seat full parties from reviews. One of us was early, and was told to leave at ten to five. I arrived and asked to sit... More

With so much choice on our door step for our stay in Toronto, we were struggling to make a decision were to go. Thank goodness we chose this place. Everything about this restaurant deserves 5/5 - the space itself, the atmosphere and especially the food. I opted for the khao soi and have never tasted something so good! It's definitely... More

I think I've found my new favourite Thai restaurant in Toronto. Yes! A friend recommended it and off to lunch we went. The decor is interesting - you can see the cement support beams and walls, the walls decorated with huge beautiful and colourful paintings. You can sit at a regular table or bar-style table. Background music is soft rock... More

Excellent authentic Thai. We waited 1.5 hours to eat here and are glad we did. Vibrant flavors. Spicy. Good service. Bar upstairs is really fun too.

Great Thailand food, you can choose the spice level of your plate, they have from noodles to curried and some others plates. My favorite was de khao soi one of the signature dishes

Service was ok. Kitschy loud , way too bright atmosphere. Food was nothing special. Better Thai places to go to.

On the recommendation of our downtown daughters (who had already taste tested) we joined them for dins last evening. No reservations, but truly worth the wait. The staff was friendly and efficient. As I'm not as adventuresome as the rest, I chose the Pad See Ew. I can't begin to express how yummy it was - sweet & delicious with... More

Looking for a casual Thai bite in a busy bustling setting then get yourself to KSR. With a short wait at the front end of the restaurant on Charlotte St, it was quickly presumed this isn't one of the biggest of restaurants but with a few high table tops at the back end of the restaurant with some share seating... New location on Charlotte is kind of small but it's a happening busy place all day and at night! Food is delicious and I love that they can deliver at all spice levels. Good prices, but if you wonder why it's mostly young hipsterish people in there - it's because it's a very trendy new look (see my pictures) and... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
