I found the place over priced for what you get. The steak was about $35 for an average cut of meat. One of their cheaper glasses of red wine was $20. The juice came out of a Tropicana bottle. It used to better before but now they are just gouging you.

Dined here with five friends the other night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The chicken liver mousse for starters and the pastas - Carbonara and Amatriciana - were particularly excellent. Nice room and attentive service. Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate terrine were a great way to wrap up a standout meal.

The drinks, service, food and ambiance were all great. We had Arancini and Romanesco Salad to start, which were both very good. We then had Carbonara pasta, which isn't on the menu but they were kind enough to make, and the Tortellini in Brodo, which was delicious. For dessert we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which we both really enjoyed.... More

Enoteca Sociale is a very cozy and delicious Italian restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient during my visit. This also happens to be one of my wife's favorite places in the city, and she says it's always great and has been for years. For food I highly recommend the arancini for an appetizer. For a main, the orecchiette was good,... More

We had been meaning to try this slightly out-of-the-way Italian restaurant after reading glowing reviews. Turns out the reviews were true. If you like great tastes and textures, knowledgeable staff and an unpretentious vibe. It is worth the drive, streetcar or cab ride to Dundas West & Dovercourt. We started with the sausage made in-house and immediately understood what all... More

Very pleasant night out for three brothers who hadn't seen each other in a while, and one daughter/niece who's a regular and recommended Enoteca Sociale for the family social summit. As stated by others, even for a Friday, parking wasn't an issue. Our server was very pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The Cacio e Pepe and Bucatini were very... More

I dined here with 12 business associates. We had our meal in the private wine cellar and indulged in the 65.00 set menu. Everything on the menu was delicious, the portions were perfect. The service was excellent! Though it was an interesting and unique/high end experience - I felt there was still very good value. Will certainly be hosting business... More

Love love love this place. I wake up at night craving their arancini, trust me it might happen to you too! Go and try their cacio&pepe, but then come back with friends and share all the pasta dishes.. you won't be disappointed. Pasta is made fresh every day, you don't find it that often!

The three of us decided to have our New Year's Eve dinner here. We had been to Enoteca several times a few years ago and I remembered it as a decent Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, most of the dishes we had that night were just not good, with one of them being inedible. For the NYE's dinner, you could order from... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
