Three friends and I stopped into the diner for Sunday brunch. There was a huge line but we were able to get in quickly as we were willing to sit at the counter (people wait 30 minutes for a booth). The food was reasonably priced and absolutly delicious. The staff was very friendly as well. On the weekends, they will... More

We loved it here. We had blueberry pancakes, eggs Benedict, a Canadian breakfast and plenty of good coffee. The staff were lovely, and we came back for a good atmosphere, tasty food and the music. Well done guys. Tim & Alex from Bath, England.

Been coming here for brunch for a long time, tried dinner for the first time. Slow cooked pulled pork wrap was probably the best pulled pork I've ever had. Good local beer selection. Very friendly staff every time we go. Prices are very reasonable as well. Thank you George Street!

On our first morning in Toronto we wanted to hit the streets for a proper breakfast and we found this place from a random Google search. Jackpot. It's not in the nicest looking location (a local told us you don't really want to head too much further away from town in that direction) and the outside is fairly unimpressive but... More

Nice, little, historic diner. Service is quick, so even though it's tiny, they'll get you seated quickly. Definitely recommend the Irish breakfast that comes with homemade soda bread. Ask for the homemade jam too.

We were so excited to try this iconic location out, and perhaps we had our expectations set a little high. The prices were much higher than expected - definitely not cheap diner fare! The service was excellent and the portions were a good size, but the experience was definitely...authentic? It really is a tiny, old, dingy diner that looks like... More

Basically a tarted up greasy spoon the outside is interesting but the inside is just cheap plastic stool and the rest. Do not expect to leave with a bill under twenty per person for bacon and eggs

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
