Great Ambience, perfect location....Service good. But most of our party were Vegans....we had checked out the menu and thought we had some options. We ended up having olives (which were very good)... Green salad....and fries. Great fries! We don't usually have problems finding Vegan options...so this was disappointing.

This is a great spot for dinner before or after theatre. They take reservations and ensure that you are out on time. The menu is not huge but interesting selections. Good wine selection as well. The truffle parmesan fries are quite literally the best I have ever had. Service was also good. I would recommend

Visited here recently to get together with some friends for lunch. I decided to try the ploughman's plate. For the price, this was a tremendous disappointment. One measly piece of cheese, three small slices of turkey (I hope) breast, a few slices of dry bread and a bunch of veggies. Ugh.

Presentation of the food is beautiful. Luma fits right into a building filled with movie theaters. The service is thoughtful and good-natured.

During the film festival we ate here. Unfortunately, we had to wait 75 minutes past our reservation time, however the staff ending up comping us for our meal, which was very kind. Food was good, nice menu. It's located in the Light Box theater. Staff was very good.

Don't get me wrong, I love Luma and have eaten here before but our last meal just didn't stack up to expectations. We were a party of eight with a time restraint due to a theatre production. This may have compounded our disappointment because despite advising our server right at the "get-go", we were still struggling to get out and... More

Ate here for lunch and dinner, enjoying the TIFF vibe. Great wine selections and bread to die for. Oh, and the deserts are pretty well impossible to resist.

The location is great and most of the crowd is before or after various events in the area. Service is very friendly and personal. Food leaves something missing. Fusion food seems to dominate the very limited menu, created to provide faster service. If you want to sit back and enjoy dinner and your company , this is not the place.... More

So, let's get a couple of things clear. First, Luma's kitchen knows how to cook. Second, unfortunately (at least for my palate) fusion dominates as a style and some of it just doesn't work - marinated, close to raw tuna with pineapple (and a host of other flavours) being a case in point. Such a shame as the venue is... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
