A Chinese restaurant that bills itself as Thai, but the food is below average. There are so many options in this area that there's no reason to come here.

Food was just Ok but good value for the money. Near several hotels and usual Thai fare. Wine @ 5 bucks a good size glass was a nice surprise too

Good pad sew. Very generous portion. Service with a smile. The only issue was that I asked for very spicy and it was rather mild. But that's ok. I'll just be more specific next time.

Evergreen Thai Restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall type place on the south side of Dundas between University and Bay Street in downtown Toronto. A colleague had given me a positive report of Evergreen so I thought I would check it out. It has perhaps ten tables, and serves Thai basics. There is nothing fancy at all about the place. From the... More

Just walked in for lunch. Loved the food. It was tasty and offered an excellent value. The waiter was attentive. The service was rapid. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Been here a few times and the food is always delicious. Great service and excellent value for money. Some of the best Thai that we've had in Toronto. The restaurant has a nice family-owned vibe in contrast to the hipster Thai-fusion restaurants popping up everywhere. Highly recommended!

A superb find in the centre of Toronto, and better than anything we found in Chinatown. We had a very attentive waitress even though the place was busy and the food was super cheap and very tasty. We paid 40 bucks (including a 20% tip) for 2 starters, 2 mains, a beer and a juice and it was clean plates... More

Nice spot in a crowded Asian restaurant market on Dundas. I have had take-out and dined in the restaurant. Both were good experiences.

If you are working nearby and want to grab a quick healthy lunch, you can easily make a pitstop at this little place. They have decent service and good food. The inside is simple and clean which helps. The Basil Noodles have been my favorite dish in this restaurant, they have a perfect blend of spices. The tofu is sometimes... More

Very clean, nicely decorated, with quite a wide menu. We overestimated the spiciness of the food and needed to add quite a bit of chilli to make our medium meals a little spicy! However a good cheap and cheerful restaurant for this part of the city.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
