Nearly every dish had something in it that I could not eat. I understand that they may want to be known as better than the average fast food/take-away lunch spot, but that seems to make cost and choice prohibitive. Sometimes, the best food is the simplest, not the fanciest. Nice decor, and regular following, but if you just want a... More

I get the fresh and wholesome idea great concept I don’t understand how a tuna steak sandwich, a small chili cup and a drink can be $22.00 Perhaps Delica has a secret transporter machine when you walk through the door and I was actually in Tuscany when I purchased my lunch. The chili was a total of 9 spoonful’s and... More

Don't go. Not if you only want to dip in and grab something and never come back. I fell for this ruse myself. "Oh, let's go here . . ." my seemingly innocent assistant told me. I had the Tuscan Tomato soup. The small. That was the first time. Now I take the large. Unapologetically. I've been working around the... More

Nice place on Yonge. ....Went there for a late lunch...Some items were sold out probably because this place has a regular clientele that know what they like. And after having the turkey chili i can see why!! Mmmm good! ...simple,clean decor ...interesting background music..nice ambiance for eating and chatting.....a bit on the pricey side but very good food

I visited Delica for my third time today, enjoying a chopped salad and two of their delicious homemade Oreo cookies to go. Excluding those delicious cookies, this has been consistently a healthy option, a quick, friendly little restaurant/café to grab lunch when in the neighbourhood. The chopped salad is stellar; I have mine with blue cheese, which is optional. I... More

We stopped here for a quick lunch today. Very friendly service, fresh food and nice selection of different meals. ... and for a reasonable price.

Went here twice and had the club 55 (roasted veggie) sandwich both times. It was delicious and very filling. Slightly over priced ($11 after tax for just the sandwich) and wish they had more vegetarian options, but would definitely go back.

The best sandwiches, soups and salads anywhere in midtown Toronto. Imaginative, high quality and fast. Clients are always very impressed when we give them a Delica catered lunch. Personal favourite is the Parisien ham and cheese on an ACE Bakery baguette.

The sandwiches are great though expensive. I don't mind paying more if it's warranted. I've had the tandoori chicken salad several times and never been disappointed until today - I get home with my salad only to find NO chicken on it!!!! I have to say I was not impressed. Expensive, too far to go back and left hungry! When... More

We bought some take-out from this new, smaller locale, which has no seating. It has morphed from an earlier donut-fried chicken (??) eatery. All the various items were tasty and reminded one of similar Euro foods. The newly-hip Leslieville neighbourhood will benefit from places like Delica. But they still need to develop one killer dish, one must-have food dish that... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
