I've never had an experience like this! The place is totally dark, all the waiters are blind and they guide you to your table. For the first 10 minutes, you have a strange feeling, but then you get used to it. The food is ok, nothing special, but the most interest thing is to experience how to act without one... More

I took my sister here over the holidays. I would say its more for the experience than for the food. After checking in, you are given a menu to pick your appetizer/main/dessert. What's interesting was they had a "surprise" option that wasn't on the menu. We both picked the "surprise" seafood appetizer and Shrimp risotto. We were then introduced to... More

When out with my girlfriend here. A great place for a new couple. So much to experience and talk about while the meal is happening. Also the food was great as well. It's a very humbling and unique experience. Here's a picture of what I saw during the experience.

If you're looking for fine dining, ambiance, or a romantic dinner, then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for an "experience", then O'Noir is a must. We went as a large group and it was humbling to say the least. Nasir was our waiter and he did a fantastic job serving more than 20... More

First of all, if you have any phobias of the dark, stay well away. We arrived in a large group and were led to our table by Nasir, who was also our waiter for the evening. And when I say led, I mean led, single file, all holding the shoulder of the person ahead of us. Once seated, we were... More

Everyone MUST dine here at least once! One of the rare times when you go to a restaurant and the food is almost an afterthought. Initially, it is a novelty. However, when your meal arrives, it becomes somewhat serious. You quickly begin to realize that the simple act of feeding yourself can be a monumental task. The staff are second... More

Overall a great experience. The food was good, not great, but priced right for that. That said, it's not just the food you're going for, it's an experience you can't get anywhere else. I'm not afraid of the dark, but the first few minutes caused some anxiety. Once getting used to it, the experience was great - your other senses... More

Yes it's a novel experience eating in complete and utter darkness, but it's also very humbling. This restaurant chain is doing great things for the visually impaired local community, and to experience for just a couple of hours what Dave our waiter lives with constantly was sobering. Being deprived of your sight will heighten your other senses - the food... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
