I thought there would have been some light in the restaurant but it was pitch black. If you leave your eyes open your eyes are constantly trying to adjust and your brain is working overtime. Best to keep your eyes closed and enjoy. Staff were extremely attentive and supportive. Meal was delicious and the "surprise" wines were excellent. Despite the... More

I really enjoyed the experience. It really makes you appreciate what visually impaired people go through. To me, it's not so much about the food. If you want a 5 star dining experience, this isn't it. The food was good, and I enjoyed being surprised with two of the dishes. I found the interaction with other patrons very interesting also.... The experience is unique. The menu is limited but that does not take away the charm of this adventure. Our server Kamani was great, helpful and incite full. The three of us, 12 yrs of age, 84 yrs of age and myself were able to fully complete our meal through the use of our utensils and left hand food guidance.... More

You order before you go in, lots of surprise plates on the menu but a very small menu to choose from... Poor wine and champagne selection. The only champagne on the menu was disappointing. You have to hold on to the waiter to walk into a pitch black room you have to feel your chair to sit. I understand the... More

I booked a reservation online and as soon as I clicked ok, I read their cancellation policy. I proceeded to call the restaurant to cancel the booking b/c I wasn't 100% sure I would be able to make it. The person who answered spoke with a manager and said it would not be a problem if I called the next... More

If you are visiting Toronto this is a must. The menu is simple but elegant. Reasonably priced. But the experience is one of a kind. From the moment you walk in to the building you get a sense of excitement. The food was excellent. Our waitress Tracey was lovely, great service. All the staff there made the visit and experience... We came here for our 4 year anniversary and had an amazing time! Our waiter (I believe his name was Victor??) was an amazingly sweet person who took care of us and made sure we were super comfortable. It was a challenge at first and your eyes never do adjust but it ended up being super fun. I was brought... More

I love this restaurant because of the unique experience dining there. It does make a difference eating in the dark. The food is tasty and the servers are friendly. I have been there 3 times and each time it feels as the 1st time. It's awesome to see some of the blind servers having a job that suits their need.

The lights are dimmed as you arrive. You are in the bar area where you can order your beverages for dinner. You also peruse the menu and place your dinner order. Once that's completed you are handed over to your blind server who will guide you to your table and ensure you are safely seated. There were 4 in our... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
