We booked Valentines Day dinner here but the only spot available was literally sitting at the oyster bar. So the night before VDay we decided to go celebrate early instead and got a nice table at the piano bar/ lounge area. The hostesses greeted us when we walked in and were very friendly. It's a nice spot but on Monday... More

Hands down, this is top of the notch and worth every pretty penny! Whether it's for a special occasion, as we dined, or any other reason, the experience will not be forgotten. We opted to sit downstairs on a Friday night, near the piano and fireplace. Best choice and it wasn't too noisy. It's also great for people watching, as... More

Went here for an early Valentines dinner w my girlfriend Service was excellent - our waiter did a fantastic job explaining the meats and menu. Start with the Caesar salad - they make it from scratch right at your table. Would reco getting a couple of smaller steaks and sharing - one high end tenderloin and one more regular ribeye... More

Ate here for Thanksgiving dinner in November. We were told it was the best steakhouse in Toronto. We were very excited due to the holiday and what we had heard from locals about the quality. Sadly, it was nothing special, very overpriced and the service was over the top rude. If you think you are going to get something comparable... More

We had a family dinner at Jacob's in November , 2016. The wine selection is second to none and so is the choice of steaks. Food preparation and presentation is spectacular. Service is impeccable It is an expensive place but it was worth every penny. .

When you are paying that kind of price for a meal you would expect the best service, courtesies, smiles from the staff, and more...and it was all of that and more. I had the Canadian steak 10 oz, (and it was carved for me-at my request- and that was a treat) and a baked potato (which was large enough to... More

Everything we took tasted exceptional. The signature caesar salad made right at the table is a must have. The steak was mouthwatering and the sides we picked (rapini and mushrooms) were delicious as well. The ambiance was really nice with dimmed lights and comfortable seating. The service was absolutely great and every single server was pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend... More

Ok it's ok to have a high end $$$ restaurant but u actually have to earn it. This place is just high prices for high prices. We tried American rib eye along with Kobe beef rib eye and it was over done even after being very clear about how we wanted it. Wine selection is crazy expensive when there are... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
