We dined last night after the opera which is what we have done since Nota Bene opened in this most convenient spot for opera patrons. It is across the street and requires a short walk and a reservation. Last night was as good a meal as we are accustomed to enjoying at this wonderful restaurant. The halibut dish and the... More

Service goes above and beyond at Nota Bene in Toronto. The waiter overheard me saying I needed my reading glasses, and offered me a pair! The menu is creative and broad, yet, not overwhelming. Our appetizers were light and delicious. The entree flavors were light, yet distinctive. And the desserts were delicious. In fact, it was all delicious in a... More

Many a Torontonian will tell you that Nota Bene is a safe bet. At first I translated this as boring. But it was not. It was great. The atmosphere was pleasant, buzzy but tables well spaced out. The room is classy and modern enough at the same time. The service felt efficient and dedicated. The food was very good. Every... More

Our visit included someone elderly, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that a ramp is available for those that use a wheelchair, walker, etc. The staff are very patient and very polite, but we did encounter very slow service as well as some accidents. For example, one server brought my aunt's drink out without the contents of the drink... More

My group was highly satisfied with Nota Bene for our dinner this week. The food was consistently high quality and innovative (in good ways), while service was responsive and knowledgeable. We appreciated the restaurant's attention to gluten-free dining requirements, between clear identification on the menu to confirming specific questions with the chef.

The front of the house was all over the place and the back of the house, despite some great ingredients and good cooking, didn't quite deliver as promised. We were seated in a rather soulless private room (nice lights, little decoration and a glazed wall onto what looked like an atrium) but the chairs were comfortable, the table spacious and... More

We liked everything about Nota Bene. Our waiter/server for the night was polite, soft-mannered, knowledgeable, and yet not intimidating. The food was delicious and the quality was very high. I personally have never had a better burger. Highly recommended-even if you don't mind the price, worth trying at least once.

A sleek and modern restaurant serving contemporary international cuisine (a little of everything). The ceviche was good and the strip loin was very tasty. The sides for the table, the gilled Brussels sprouts were tasty and the thin onion rings were superb. My colleagues' dishes of beet salads and black cod and the Bavette were also very good. As I... I was here with a small group, and we had an excellent meal and great conversation. Basically, I would say this place does everything well. Cocktail was nice, excellent appetizer, main also interesting and delicious. Service pretty much impeccable. Good wine. Hard to find any flaws in the delivery here. Didn't knock my socks off, not a particularly adventurous menu,... More
