This spot is ideal for a quick lunch. They do sandwiches which are made to order using premium ingredients which naturally attract a premium price. The pulled pork is especially tasty. Place is conveniently located across the street from the Rosedale TTC subway station. Note that if you are late for lunch they likely won't have everything on the menu,... More

Have passed this storefront for years but had never gone in. What a revelation for takeout sandwiches. Certainly beats any generic fast food option. Great, imaginative selection in a tiny but efficient spot in Rosedale. Met a friend here on a sunny late winter day. Perfect for soaking up sun on the sidewalk patio. Friendly staff who hustle. Can be... More

Walked by a week ago and it smelled so good, I had to return to try the food. Tiny place with a small menu, but who cares when it's this good! I had the slow cooked beef brisket with their BBQ sauce and onions, amazing. The service was fast and friendly and considering the neighbourhood, very well priced. I'll be... More

I had a Slow Roasted Beef Brisket, with Basil Pesto Mayo and Chipotle Mayo. I also asked for extra Sauteed Cremini Mushrooms. It was delicious! The best sandwich I have eaten in Toronto so far. I am going to come back. It worths every dollar. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Loved it!

Heard about this place, and so had to try it. Its a small place tucked just outside the rosedale subway station. Very basic inside, with only a few spots for seating. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which I thought was pretty good! The only thing that I would maybe change about this sandwich is that I thought that the... More

Four and a half. I wanted a quick bite and drink to go on a subway. I got a delicious brisket sandwich and picked two sauces, creamed horseradish and a sauce I never tried before. I wanted to add either a topping of Cremona mushrooms or caramelised onions. Yum. I asked to cut it in half and ate half there... More

Last September, I was in charge of ordering food for 24 people for a workshop. I came across Black Camel through foodie and selected this place because their prices were within my budget. I was not disappointed. Between the 24 people, we ordered the camel club, the pulled pork, pulled chicken, steak, veggie and brisket sandwiches including a coleslaw and... More

If you're looking for atmosphere, this is not your place. If you're looking for a great sandwich, it absolutely is. We've had pretty much every sandwich they offer, and they have all been terrific. Big, stuffed with goodies, messy to eat, and supremely delicious! Very limited seating area. There are a couple of tables outside in the nicer weather.

Great sandwich takeout place. Absolutely the best pulled pork sandwiches you will find anywhere in Toronto!

Rosedale area lacks cheap eats and fast food. Black camel compensated for the lack of choice with quality sandwiches. The most popular choice is the black camel beef brisket sandwich.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
