From time to time go there for a nice coffee and cookies. Comfortable chairs , free Wi FI and home atmosphere.

I have nothing but praise for Chris and the team at Mahtay Cafe. The atmosphere is casual, artsie, open, and enjoyable. These have wonderful lunch selections (hand made sandwiches and soups), quality espresso drinks, local craft beer, and a massive listing of on-going events. Be sure to check out the large chalkboard calendars when you walk in the front entrance... More

Whether you're there on a date, with friends or just chilling alone, Maytay is amazing. Great food for everyone whether you're vegan, vegetarian or the ol' omnivore. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is so wonderful. The hipster vibe is calming and helps you forget where you are and any worries you may have in your life. I really... More

I love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at Mahtay. Such a mixed bag of patrons as well - students, writers, couples, groups of friends. They offer lovely specialty teas and coffees and sweet and savoury treats. Catch one of their live shows if you can. They always highlight local St. Catharines talent - music, open mic, comedy. I was at... More

It is an amazing cafe that stole my attention the first time I saw it when I moved to St. Catharines. I haven't stopped going there since. Everyone is extremely friendly and recognises you after 2-3 visits. They also remember my drinks and are pro active to prepare it even before my debit card has gone through. The atmosphere is... Hubs and I hang out here every now and then when we want to feel like we don't have kids and jobs and all that horrible stuff. We drink enormous pretty coffees, and eat delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, and play a board game, chill to the great music, look at the art, occupy a couch. I love it here.

A small warm and friendly place. We got there, family of 5, on the road from here to there and it was truly the right place

Good atmosphere. Not a sit-down meal place but drinks/snacks are fab. The entertainment was great and the art on the wall is a mic local touch.

On a recent trip through the Niagara Region we stopped at the Mahtay Cafe for a coffee and tea. I was really surprised at how good the coffee and tea was here. The food was also excellent. They are also licensed and have all sorts of interesting events on in the evening and lots of great art by local artists... More

My girlfriend and I stopped in this cafe for a drink after passing by and seeing some ladies near the front enjoying some wine. They had a nice selection of beer and wine from local breweries and wineries. We had a pineapple beer from Oast, which was very pleasant. We met friendly staff who had no problem answering our questions... More
