My wife and I went to the one on Elgin St Ottawa based on a suggestion from my brother-in-law and we weren't disappointed. The staff was super friendly and although we went there for oysters and drinks, both were amazing. We will definitely come back!!

The food is just quite incredible. All made from fresh ingredients with nice balanced between different flavors. The service is perfect. Oysters were excellent. Prices are high but it had to be expected considering the food quality.

We were a party of four with reservations. Excellent food and services. We shared 3 dozen oysters and all had the lobster dinner. Amazing. Wide variety of oysters. I don't generally like wine, but I loved the red wine I had here at the recommendation of the waiter. The waiter was attentive but didn't hover, was knowledgable and offered great... More

Had dinner there last week. I've had oysters which I found to be on the expensive side - dozen for 35$. The main course - their daily meal was fish with potatoes and beets was delicious. A bit too salty for my taste, but it was fresh and flavorsome. The server that took care of me was super polite and... More

Had dinner with a friend and we both had trouble hearing each other and our server. I love emphatic music volume, but when the bar atmosphere dominates and, in the mind of staff, calls for REALLY LOUD BLARING music, the enjoyable conversation aspect of a good meal is lost. People at all tables had to speak very loudly to each... More

We had an awesome meal tonight. Great service and a chance to sit next to the open kitchen. Fabulous and super fresh east coast oysters to start. The scallop crudo was the highlight for me - so fresh, tender, herbaceous and a vinaigrette I could lick off the plate were it appropriate! The tuna appetizer also delicious, with a unique... More

I had the steelhead fish special, which was incredibly delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the beets on the side where amazing. I loved my experience.

My daughter and I had an amazing lunch at the Whalesbone this Monday. I had three options and I asked our kind waiter for a suggestion. He mentioned the mussels, and much to my delight - they were absolutely amazing! Started off with a lovely homemade bread - not heavy or doughy. And just the right amount. My mussels were... More

Went with a party of 11 for my daughter's birthday in February; have lived in Ottawa all my life and can't believe I hadn't been there before! We all had different meals and all raved about it - definitely the best seafood in Ottawa and a fun atmosphere to boot! The only time I've had better seafood was in Newfoundland,... More

It was a cold, blustery March break evening, and felt very lucky that this amazing restaurant was a 4 minute walk from our wonderful hotel. I was looking forward to fresh oysters, but when we got there, we realized that they were rather expensive that night. So we opted instead to share a "sea-cuterie" platter as appetizer. Wow. Were we... More
