The Wellington Gastropub tries to give off the air of chic with the furnishings and the perhaps too hip wait staff. We had to wait for our table. It looked like a good sign that it was busy. The appetizer was quite small and although there were some ingredients identified by the waiter as in the sauce, they were not... More

For most restaurants in Canada the beer selection is appallingly bad as most have been locked down by a major distributor and all you can find is Keiths (sorry that's not an IPA) or Molsen and the like. Luckily the craft brewing craze that has taken over the US is gaining momentum in Canada and the local talent is finally... More

Ive eaten here with a couple of groups, as a couple and most recently for my birthday with our kids. I like the warm casual "gastropub" concept: a very good menu and wine and beer offerings in a less formal setting. Food was delicious, with the duck and steak still at the top of my list , the beet salad... More

Nice atmosphere and staff are super. Food is good, although sometimes overrated. Portions are on the small side and prices are steep. Still, if you're looking for a nice meal out, this qualifies. Yummy desserts, too!

I've eaten here probably 4 times, two lunches and two dinners and it was hit and miss. I've found that if you stick to the heavy French-inspired food it tends to be better. Think foie gras, steak etc. Then it was fab. Otherwise, meh.

And I like salt... because of my low blood pressure. Went twice six months apart, all 4 main dishes we had were way too salty. The best deal - go for Steak tartare...

A full bustling restaurant with wonderful service and delicious food, a real treat for a date night! We both enjoyed the tomato, lentil, bacon soup and each ordered a different main so we could share...well that didn't happen we both coveted our steak and pork ...though we each managed one bite of the others. Dessert did not include as many... More

Living in Ottawa we were looking forward to visiting this restaurant because of the reviews. First the good; the service here is excellent, very professional, observant but never obtrusive. Second the Ok; The food was merely ok, I had the pork dish which was rather small in portion size, even for gastronomic food, my fiance had a dish of scallops... More

Great service and atmosphere. Great beer and very decent wine selection. Although the ribeye was a little chewy the sauce was amazing! This place would be a top ten restaurant anywhere. It's pricey but well worth it. it's also a little off the beaten track but well worth it.

I figure I've eaten at Gastropub enough times to finally write a review. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Ottawa. The food is simply amazing, from the delicious bread from Art-Is-In Bakery to the menu that is refreshed daily. Steak is always done exactly at the level where you want it. The rabbit and duck are ultra tender. I... More
