Just ok. Had enchiladas, which were only luke warm and quickly became cold. The rice and beans on the plate weren't warm at all. It's a bad sign when the food doesn't even arrive at the table hot. No condiments on the tables. Friend had...a burrito, which was again just ok. Nothing special. Service was ok but she only took our order, brought the food, and that was it. No checking in to see if we needed anything. I had heard good reviews, so wanted to try it myself. It was simply ok, and I won't be rushing back anytime soon. $70 for 2 people. Much better options out there for that price.More

The food was flavourful, But there was not enough food on the $20 Plus plates. We left hungry and We had to have another dinner when we got home.

A filthy dilapidated run down room. Grimy tables, dirty vents, sticky glasses. YUCH ! Poor service. 2 filled tables yet people stacked at the door. Dry meat, sparse serving. No condiments on the table, no decor or colour , just brown old chipped brown wood.

My wife and I went yesterday. The place looked like a warehouse. Although there were empty tables available, none of the staff approached us to seat us as we stood there for at least 15 minutes. We left frustrated and would definitely not recommend going...there.More

I am allergic to nuts, fish and shellfish, so choosing a restaurant is always a gamble. We tried Chilaquiles for the first time about 6 months ago, and go back at least once a month. There is no fish or shellfish on the menu, and...only the mole sauce contains nuts. Items are clearly marked as to whether they contain gluten. The staff are friendly and the food is always good. Portions are a good size, so it is good to arrive hungry! They recently moved a few doors down the street into a larger location. When we went the last time, it was busy - about 75% full - which was great to see.More

I've spent longish periods of time in Mexico, traveling,/hiking, attending group functions of the English speaking community in various enclaves of the larger cities. I eat and shop for myself at the mercado abierto, like the locals. And Chiaquiles makes me feel like I'm back...there. I'm a keen, fairly learned Canadian foodie, + the place is so often full of Spanish speakers...what can I say.??? I was thrilled to see a whole crew of Mexican men, working with roads devouring, very politely many courses. THEY HAVE MOVED NEXT DOOR. Last word I had were new tables, new chairs....that wouldn't hurt ! May go this week.More

Authentic taste of mexican food.great service, great tasty food and not too spicy. Why is my rating low, its due to the whole maintenance of the place including the bathroom. I am glad I went after my meal. My suggestion: paint goes a long way....It’s nice to go to a nice fresh well kept restaurantMore

The food tasted very well, each dish was made with perfection. The drinks are out.of this world. Not pocket pinching and the best part is the welcome by the owner of the restaurant.

Fantastic meal. Have been twice in the last couple weeks. Ate on the outdoor patio both times. Greeted with a smile by the owner. Very welcoming. Tortilla soup was amazing. Just like in Puerto Vallarta, MX. Tried the barbacoa burrito with roja sauce. It was...excellent. Again flavours that brought us back to our time in Mexico. Both the tacos and quesadillas were very good also. Just a great experience all around. Unlike the hot mess a block away I will spend my money here from now on as the food and experience is much more authentic. See you soon my friends. Gracias!!!!More

Will definitely be back. Small, quaint, lively music. Food was really good with authentic tastes. Taco’s were really delicious. Little mom and pop shop type of place . Luv it

I discovered Chilaquiles at this restaurant and fell in love with the flavour! I've tried other places, but this one still has the best. I love it with the salsa verde and fried egg. So fresh and flavourful!

It’s been years since I’ve been to Mexico, but my visit to Chilaquiles brought back a lot of great memories. The place is a little small, but the staff is well organized and friendly. The food is authentic, and we’ve had it several more times...as takeout since COVID hit. I particularly like the nachos, and quesadilla, but for me the burrito is simply awesome.More

I have got take-out there several times. The food is very good, and the prices very reasonable. My favourites are the chicken soup and vegetarian burritos.

Went here with a friend recently. Their outdoor seating was an alley between two buildings. We both ordered the enchiladas with shredded chicken and mole sauce. The food came out VERY quickly. Like, in 2 minutes. It had obviously been sitting for a while and...was cold, floating in mole sauce and, largely, tasteless. Our server was friendly and attentive, but I don't see myself going back again any time soon.More

After a decade in Texas, I’m hard to please with Mexican food. This is certainly the best Mexican food I’ve had in Ottawa. Been 3 times already. I especially recommend the enfrijoladas. Caveat: If you ask for the tortilla soup vegetarian style they put lumps...of cheese in. Ask for them to leave it out or on the side; if you do it is a remarkably delicious soup. Signature dish (“chilaquiles”) is a bit sloppy but delicious. Salsas in plastic squeeze bottles but they are great. Modest but authentic and relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful casual dinner. Go for it!More
