My husband and I shared the best ham and Brie sandwich with a flight of white wine at Shaw Cafe. Service was 100% as well! The Server put half the sandwich and salad on each plate without asking - simple but great gesture!

Tried the white wine flight and husband had the beer flight. Great way of sampling a mix. Good price and friendly service. Didn't try the food as it was a quick bus tour stop but well worth popping in.

We have come here every time we visit N-O-L. We have never been disappointed. Food is always good with a nice atmosphere. Our visit today was the best yet thanks to Kelson and Gordon. While most places were closed due to the snowstorm, we were warmly welcomed at the Shaw Cafe. When we inquired about the menu items, Kelson was... More

We have been here several times before and the food was very good but this time ,it was very disappointing. The soup was rather bland and the cheese plate was tasteless and the amount was noticeable less. Poor value. The tea was Luke warm The service however was quick and friendly Overall not a good food experience for the money... More

Had lunch at this restaurant as have eaten here in the past and was happy with it. Not so this time. It is filthy, dead flies in the window sills, dirty floors, tables wiped but not clean. The food was unimpressive and came to the table cold. The server was very pleasant but I will not eat here again.

Ate at this cafe this weekend. Have eaten here in the past maybe 3 or so years ago and it was good. Ordered a Caesar to drink. It came garnished with a brown lime - not a good start. The hot food was cold, the cheese plate was uninspired. It was actually hard to look past the uncleanliness of the... More

We visited the Shaw in mid-February on a cold but sunny day. This corner cafe posted its menu on Queen Street and we were sold on the salads and the lovely building. We had the blue cheese pear salad with grilled chicken and the green salad with flax seeds and grilled shrimp. Both salads were large and full of flavor.... More

Fully understand that an end-of-day on a Sunday, in the winter, even on the Ice Festival weekend, is not the ideal time for ordering food in NotL, or anywhere for that matter. The Shaw Cafe is a lovely setting especially in the summer, but there were some serious goods and bads here today. So let's start with the positives. The... More

I have lunch with two colleagues. The service was polite, prompt and professional. Our lunches were good. I'm always pleased when I get a "wow" from a great meal, but I'll rank my lunch as good.

Disappointed. Expensive (which comes with the location, I suppose), but canned pears with the $19 salad?? The walnut, pear, blur cheese salad was dry, tasteless. Terrific atmosphere, and waiters were funny, but not super attentive.
