I was taking out a friend out for lunch. We had been going to eat at The Pie Plate in Virgil, but found that that restaurant was closed--even though the Internet said it was open today. We were quite disappointed and were driving toward a Niagara-on-the-Lake. We noticed a new development that had a restaurant/pub. We decided to look at... More

We were a total of four adults and one 14 year old. All five were coming in for lunch and drinks. The 14 year old had a half finished green tea from another establishment and the manager rudely insisted that she sit outside until she finished it or get rid of it if she wanted to come in. Needless to... More

Thank you. I hope another independent business was so kind as to let you bring in your big corporations business into there establishment. Tim Hortons serves food as well, if they are that great why didn't you eat there. A green tea would have probably cost you less with us. And the rude manager was actually a protective owner. More

Recently had lunch with a colleague at the Garrison House and was pleasantly surprised. We made what could be described as pretty unoriginal choices a hamburger and chips and a Ham sandwich special. The result was a pleasant surprise. My hamburger was one of the best I have had locally and the french fries were excellent. My colleague was equally impressed with the... More

The Garrison House is the perfect after work place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. The interior is so inviting being an old house with the window frames in the middle of the restaurant still visible. And there's a long harvest table that lets friends gather. Try their award-winning mussels! So fresh and delicious. Not to mention... More

We have had lunch here a number of times this past year, the staff are always pleasant and the food is good. It is a pricier for a burger but is worth it if you include the ambiance.

After having a fiasco with our advanced reservation at Oliv restaurant last Saturday, We looked for alternative dinner options and came across a tavern called the Garrison House. It was quite packed but they still managed to fit us in without a reservation. The food was spectacular, the service was outstanding and the pricing was extremely reasonable. HIGHLY recommend this... Pleasant welcome. Quickly seated. Choices in the menu. Bread/Butter is charged, not complimentary that you find in MANY restaurants. Found it strange. The food quite good. Prices more than average but worth it. Creme Brulee was OK. Atmosphere was informal. Server helpful.

I have been here a couple times and am pleased. The food is great, service on point and booze selection commendable. They can get packed during the summer tourist season which is expected of a restaurant on Niagara Stone Road. Worth a visit if you can get a tablr.

Well I see a few negative reviews. Yes sometimes the food takes awhile to come out but it is worth it. Everything is home made so it takes a bit of prep time. You want fast service go to McDonald's. This is more farm to table. Sit back relax and enjoy. We have on many occasions while visiting Niagara. And... More

Met up with approximately six friends a couple weeks ago. We all sat around the bar, enjoying wine, beer and tapas. The atmosphere was friendly, staff very accommodating . That evening sample of local beer and wine was offered. Very informal and fun..a great local hangout
