Willow has the feel of a small French neighborhood bakery. They have a handful of tables where you can enjoy coffee, tea, cocoa, baked goods and sandwiches. Their baked goods are delicious and they always have a few gluten-free offerings. We recently ordered a delicious flourless chocolate cake (photo posted) for a friend's birthday and the bakery did a beautiful... More

Definitely a cut above! The coffee was excellent, pastries great, and the place was humming. On site bakery were the pastries are made ensures you get a nice fresh treat. Seating is a bit limited but adequate.

On our weekend getaway to Niagara On The Lake we wanted to take some treats back to our hotel room to have with coffee by the fireplace. We stopped into Willow Cakes and Pastries and thought we had died and gone to food heaven !!! Really it was magical inside with Christmas cakes, cookies, chocolates and sweet delights that made... We got a selection of goods, and nothing was short of amazing. We purchased the biscuits, the ham/cheese croissant, and a selection of desserts (cheesecakes and key-lime tart!). Everything was fantastic!

My wife and I have been to Willow many times. It never disappoints. They offer savory pastries (pot pies and such) and sandwiches which are all very good. The cakes and torts are all made with high quality chocolates, butter cream, whipped cream and other quality ingredients that are very rich, but not gloppy like you find with vegetable based... I had previously submitted a review that was not terribly favourable. I would just like to say that since my previous experience, this past weekend I was the fortunate recipient of quite seriously the best damn carrot cake I have ever had! It just happened to be gluten free. It was moist, dense, full of flavour and the icing was... More

We love to walk our town. Last month we walked the shops and streets of beautiful NOTL and stopped in at Willow Cakes for a coffee and drooled over the amazing pastries. It is impossible to pick just one treat.

Great little bake shop with bike rack right in front. Car parking is right behind building. Large select of fruit tarts, cakes, cookies, etc. Coffee and tea selections were good. Service was excellent! A few tables outside but they go fast when groups of bikers stop for a rest and recharge! I would go with the seasonal fruit tarts as... More

We really enjoyed the spanikopita and the sausage rolls - mainly filling, not too much pastry. The staff were young, friendly and engaging. The bakery was bright, with large, inviting windows. Very yummy selection.

Description
It is hard to say what pastry chef and proprietor Catherine O'Donnell is best known for - her incredible breads, decadent cakes, or her decidedly delicious pastries. Unquestionably, they are all worth the trip to Willow Cakes and Pastries in Niagara-on-the-Lake, christened "a place of pilgrimage for anyone with a sweet tooth" by James Chatto in the LCBO's Food and Drink magazine. Stepping into Willow Cakes and Pastries feels like a trip to the Continent and a European patisserie. Customers experience the feel of both a local bakery and an exquisite boutique - surveying the breads, chocolates, cakes and tarts in gleaming display cases, watching Catherine and her team at work through the viewing window or lingering over coffee and a newspaper. Whether you are in the market for a show stopping wedding cake, a dessert to impress your guests, a gift to be savoured, or a coffee and quick bite on the go, Willow Cakes and Pastries is truly a "must stop shop" in Niagara.
