This was our first time visit this restaurant. We went after a colleague suggested we try it since we are relatively new to Indian cuisine. From the moment we entered until we left, we were treated like family. The young gentleman who greeted us approached...us with a shy warmth and then showed us to a table. The owner, Danny< came and asked us how we were doing. I explained that we were new to Indian cuisine and wanted to "be educated". After asking us about our limited past experiences with Indian food and asking if we had any allergies, he took it from there. Danny took us through the menu and explained the flavours and then he made suggestions based on our reactions. We ordered a nice bottle of red wine which usually sells for 10 dollars more in others restaurants we frequent and the food began to appear in stages. Each serving was explained, along with the name, the ingredients and even, in some cases, where the ingredients came from. That was impressive. We later learned that Danny buys the hand-picked ingredients at the Food Terminal and knows where they ate shipped from. We ate until we were completely full and everything was delicious. Based on the amount we ate and the quality of the food, I was expecting the meal to cost at least $150. It was significantly less. The restaurant is small but that means it will not be too noisy even when full. It is really nicely decorated and i liked to seats. Service is prompt but not rushed. I noticed that when others arrived, the owner treated them with the same care and warmth. If other people have visited this restaurant and gave it a negative rating, I have no idea how they would justify it. This was a beautiful evening out with my wife and we will go back with friends.More
