Food here is amazing. Visited this place over 20 years ago and it was amazing. Well not much has changed. Food is still plentiful, and for the 2 of us the price was just right.Service was very good, a tad slow but they were very...More

Nondescript appearance from outside but wonderfully cozy once you are inside. There are three sort of “sections”- one where you enter and can sometimes eat, but is mainly for waiting. Then there is a second sort of gloomy section of booths for two to four...More

I have been hearing for years about the Black Forest inn. Specialty Is schnitzel - and it's true ! 4 different meals were ordered and all were heavenly ! The aroma in the restaurant was unbelievable! It's a small place making it easy to scope...More

The food is consistent - large variety of schnitzels with a few other items if you aren't craving schnitzel. Their soup and salad are consistently satisfying. Bread basket is generous. Good selection of beer. Closed Mondays, and they do not take reservations. Main complaint is...More

I was very impressed with the help the staff gave our friend who was using a walker. They got a ramp out to make it easier for her to get down the one step into the main dining room and also out the exit door....More

Yes, I've reviewed the Black Forest before but when you have a good thing they keep coming. Now Monday's are even better. The are now open Mondays with the Vienna Schnitzel dinner for only $10, I'll be back next Monday

We went with a large group-most had a meat based order but some did have non meat dish. The salads were great and very well portioned. Everyone did rave about the schnitzel and spetzel.
Raving reviews may come from .."real people"..(read same poster with different IP.. Then again some people live on McDonald hogwash and have no clue how real food should taste.. where I am lost is that many perceived the "service" as excellent, OK or adequate! well as I said before, patrons vote with their feet.. if you like to eat mediocre slosh , keep visiting Forest Inn..

You are exactly correct. Many people will try to say a place is authentic but have no clue what that actually means. Their standard is slop and anything slightly better is great.
