We tried: Bacon and Scallops and Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon from their regular menu; and Pan Seared Munro Farms Rainbow Trout from their fresh fish and seafood festival menu (available until April 30). Bacon and Scallops: This was an amazing dish: fat, jumbo scallops and thick, juicy bacon bits. Scallops were buttery, salty and soft as expected. Not sure if... More

We took our clients to the Blackshop and it was excellent. We asked specifically for their table for 8 and it was a great location with plenty of room for everyone. A large square table that allowed good conversation. We started with appetizers, calamar and steak tartar. Both were great. Sweet potato and french onion soups were enjoyed. Entrees were... More

Our family of four visited Blackshop for a birthday meal. We visited on a Tuesday with no reservations but didn't need them. We were sat down for over half hour before getting any drinks. This didn't initially bother us as we were in no rush. After being there for an hour and a half we realized we hadn't even seen... More

Went to Blackshop with a friend. Ordered the Samon/Jasmine Rice. The tobiko and butter sauce and avocado salsa worked. Light on salt. Good portion sizes left enough room for dessert (This is not the restaurant for you, if you want large portions of crap food with lots of left-overs). I had the milk chocolate cake, which was like a mousse... More

One of the questions they ask you when you fill out these reviews is "does this restaurant offer free wifi?" My initial reaction to this question was, "God, I hope not!!" I can't imagine being distracted from such a wonderful culinary experience by something as inane as wifi. This is not a restaurant you patronize to surf the net. If... More

We had a nice quiet lunch here on March 18th. The restaurant was getting busier when we left but we were never rushed or felt hurried to make meal choices. Food was great as always.

We visited there 2 weeks ago and it has been a favorite restaurant of ours for a couple of years now so we have certain expectations for the place. I had a steak feature and my wife and friend had the gnocchi and beef main entry and his wife had Salmon. My steak had lots of gristle in it, however... More

Excellent service. We had the choice of two entrees and I can report the Salmon was wonderful. Fresh and well prepared. Others had beef reported similar results.

Always enjoy eating at the Blackshop. Seasonal features are always great and the regular menu uses nothing but quality ingredients that are well prepared. A definite spot to visit for lunch, dinner or amazing brunch.

Once you get over the shock of the extremely high prices in the menu, youll find the food selection is different from any other restaurant you'd visit in Cambridge. From appetizer to main course, the food was delicious. Sadly, the dessert menu did not excite me. The Palacinky (crepes with frozen fruit heated) lacked flavour. I found the fruit to... More

Hi there, Thank you for the kind review! I am very happy to hear that you felt you received great value for your dollar, that's exactly what we strive for in everything that we do. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the Palachinky. I hope you'll come back and try another of our house-made desserts. My favourite is the milk chocolate... More
