Jazz music playing subtly in the background as we were very well attended to by our waiter. We both had starters and a main course which were delicious and piping hot. The wine was also lovely. Service was good and we didn't feel rushed even...More

Great sea food and excellent service in this beautiful old place. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit and make a reservation

I went to Press Gang for dinner with two colleagues. The scotch collection is vast and impressive. Dinner menu was alright. Food was reasonably priced and of good but not exceptional quality. Service was average. I would go back for the scotch.

Set in the second oldest building (1759) in Halifax, this is a quiet, relaxing place. The seafood, especially the oysters, were wonderful. We had salmon (somewhat fishy) and char (delicious). The service was just right. It has a welcoming bar full of dark wood and...More

I simply loved this place. Delicious food and local oysters all in an old building from the 1700's with sone walls. So charming, amazing service and my absolute favorite place to eat on our entire trip through Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. A winner!

Awesome old stone style decor. The two of us were seated in a little private alcove. Great selection of beer and scotch. Oysters were geat, but the PEI oysters tate range seemed tastier for the price. Oyster size was small here, relative to PEI.

We went to the Press Gang last night for dinner and to celebrate my birthday. We made reservations a few days in advance but were seated at a rather awkward table in the front, rather than something nicer in the back. The menu seemed quite...More

Make no mistake: this place is fancy. And pricey. The atmosphere is very dark and would be appropriate for a romantic dinner. I went under the impression that it was an English pub, which is not accurate. If you're thinking about coming here, compare it...More

This restaurant is expensive by Nova Scotia standards but the food is exceptional. The ambiance is wonderful with stone walls and pillars and intimate lighting. Love watching the action in the open kitchen. We were told that this was the residence of the first mayor...More
