Party of six, including one aged 14 months, ate heartily for under $200. The food is on the innovative end of reassuringly traditional, prepared well and served with calm and friendly efficiency. The large dining room was full by 6 p.m. on a Sunday night,...More

I had heard good things about this restaurant, but for some reason we had never visited it. The food was excellent and the service very good. We started with the charcuterie board and added two cheeses to it. The meats and pates (chef's selections) were...More

Comfortable restaurant. Have been to this place several times and have enjoyed it. Last visit food was not as favorable as it had been. Several people at our table had the cod. Extremely over cooked. Ordered extra cheese for our board . A teaspoon quantity...More

We've eaten at Peasant Cookery several times now. At first we were extremely impressed. There was little to complain about. But this last visit showed where some problems seem to be developing. For one thing, the menu doesn't seem to have changed. We both agreed...More

Only stopped in for a night cap but the bartender was spot on with drinks. A few more choices of craft beers in tap would be nice to see but overall they have the bases covered for drinks.

Peasant Cookery... interesting name. Certainly not a place for peasants. Ha! We entered the lounge for a light lunch and some beverages. Great service. Enjoyable atmosphere. Tasty bites. Very clean. We look forward to returning for supper at some point in the future.

Hostess and bartender/server were very friendly and patient. They were happy to answer questions and explain things thoroughly. Menu is not extensive, however the food items are fairly specialized and there is probably something (one thing) for everyone on the menu. Atmosphere is welcoming and...More

We didn't do this place justice. After our mussels and fries appetizer, some delicious bread and beet salads we hit the wall. Oh, and some wine. Next time we'll do a main dish. Service and food were both excellent. Liked the wine list broken down...More

My wife and I enjoyed a very enjoyable meal on a Saturday evening. The server was very attentive. The Tempranillo wine we chose was very good. Our charcuterie appetizer supplemented with two additional cheeses was excellent as were our entrees - the salmon and tortiere....More

Parking isn't ideal but there is several parkades close by. If you go in the evenings you probably won't have an issue but if you go during the day, especially on a busy day downtown, you may have difficulty. And it would... More
