We visited Resto Gare to celebrate an anniversary and were very pleased with our experience. We had made reservations and were greeted and shown to our seats in a timely fashion. The dining choices were outstanding and both chose the Filet Mignon. Our steaks were done perfectly and were exceptional! We did not opt for dessert however the cart travelled... More

If the charming atmosphere and the fresh locally sourced food aren't enough to draw you in for a visit, do it for a taste of the amazing seafood crepes (Crepes Fruit de Mer). Delicious.

We went for a late supper to celebate our (my wife's and my) birthdays. As we arrived late, we were offered seating in either the train car or the dining room. We chose the dining room and were given a table next to the fireplace. The restaurant, many years ago, was a train station and the decor is highly fitting... More

My wife and I have had dinner here on several occasions, both under the current "Resto Gare" moniker and the previous name. The food is always thoughtfully prepared, and I can honestly say I've had some of the best steaks in my life here.

My husband and I have been loyal patrons of Resto Gare for years. We have recommended the restaurant to dozens of people, raved about the food, atmostphere and service. We have bought gift certificates, we have brought groups of people and out of town guests to Resto and when there were many other options and choices - we insisted on... More

My partner had made a reservation for my birthday at this restaurant specifically ensuring that we would have a nice table in the main dining room, not the rail car, which on previous visits we found to be cramped and cold The person on the phone assured him that she would book a table in the main dining room as... To celebrate my husband’s birthday we chose to dine at Resto Gare and enjoyed a wonderful evening and scrumptious food. Chef Melissa Makarenko has created an offering of culinary delights which will have us coming back again and again - all at a price point which is very easy on the budget. We stared with the “Petit pot de Brie... More

On our recent visit to Winnipeg my husband decided he wanted a good 'steck/frites' after the very trendy restaurant I had persuaded him to try the previous evening. This one is located in an old station building with an attached old rail car. It has been there since the 1970s, we were told, and to a certain extent shows its... More

My friends and I always schedule a girls' night in which each of us picks a restaurant to visit every couple of months. This month's pick was Resto Gare, which I heard had good reviews due to the chef, Scott Bagshaw (formerly of Pizzeria Gusto). I checked the menu online beforehand and was disappointed to find out that Chef Bagshaw... More

After reading reviews on trip advisor my husband and i decided to try Resto Gare and were pleasantly suprised! We didnt make reservations on a saturday night and were seated promptly anyways. As it got later, the resturant filled up so reservations may be a good idea if you go later for dinner. We walked in about 6. The atmosphere... More
