The server is good. The food is fast. The antipasto has a good variety and few surprises. The pastas and the sauces authentic. My Mushroom risotto was a bit too oily but delicious. Generous portion. Good selection of wine. Cosy yet elegant setting.

Had 6 days in Whistler and choose to visit this restaurant on last night. Food very good, and priced appropriately. Waiter spoke to our 2 early teenager boys with upmost respect and made for a very nice meal. Wine list excellent and broad choice. Only criticism was service almost too quick and a 3 course meal was completed in 90... More

We have been eating here when we visit Whistler since the 90's and it never ceases to amaze me how the quality stays at the top. Every item on this menu is fabulous but the pasta dishes make you feel like you are truly in Italy. We now bring our children with us and Umberto came to our table just... More

We are Whistler locals and were invited to dinner at Caminetto by kind visiting friends. As locals we were frankly embarrassed. The prices are outrageous for the quality and quantity of food served. My husband had the crab cake appie which was very expensive and the presentation of tiny crab cakes on a long rectangular plate was so precious (in... More

The food was very good, but not exceptional. I expected richer flavors. The service was mediocre. The waitress came many times at first to check on our order before we were able to make our decisions, but when we made them, she disappeared.

Italian food has to be a great, comforting and well executed! I missed all that. After a long wait - over 20 minutes after the starters - my risotto was cold and far overcooked. Scallops were good! But it's really hard to ruin those. We also order some pasta that was far below expectations. It is overpriced for the quality.... More

A quick review. Great Italian, food is wonderful service is great I came here twice in 10 days and can safely say both meals topped my 'top 10' list in Whistler. It's a great set up, I will 100% return. Thank you and keep up the great work

Oso bucco and parmesan were good but not the flavors we look for in a fine Italian restaurant. Veal was tender but oso bucco was a little too chewy.

You can tell this is one of Umberto's restaurants by the quality of the food. Pricey but worth it Service isn't quite what I expected. The reception area was overwhelmed by the number of patrons. They were clearly not under control. Even though they had identified our reservation, they seemed to have forgotten to seat us. There were a few... More

Food was pretty good, portion sizes not great and a bit pricey. Service was horrible. First they greeted us at the door with a frown and were order to hand over the jackets and wait at the bar. Then when ordering we were met with about 3 different wait staffs who all took our orders and ended up stuffing up... More

Since it's 1981 debut, this restaurant remains King of the Mountain. Located in the heart of Whistler Village, Umberto Menghi's Il Caminetto expresses warmth and hospitality. Offering fine Tuscan cuisine at its very best accompanied by a large selection of international wines with the emphasis on Italian.

Come for fun, relaxation, or romance to this cozy dining room, rich with colour and Italian charm. In the summer Il Caminetto's patio is the perfect place to "see and be seen" along Village Stroll.
