In our opinion, this is the best restaurant in Whistler. During our 2-week skiing trip we also visited the higher-ranking restaurants (on Tripadvisor), but none was able to top our experience at Alta Bistro. Cozy and relaxed ambience but excellent food, great wine options, friendly and very professional staff. This will be our first stop next time we visit Whistler.

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2016 via mobile

Very warm and comfortable dining space with welcoming service and the food...the food was superb and memorable. The Chefs 4 or 5 course menu was creative, full of flavor and made us look forward to returning. Wine pairings by the glass were well matched with each dish. Do have the Elk Tartare and the Wagyu charcuterie amongst so many more... More

This is one of the very best restaurants in Whistler. The menu is spectacular as is the wine list. Be adventurous here. Their use of spices is so intricate you can't always tell what they've done in the prep. The bread is only served if you order it from the menu (not included). Order it! Deelishhhuussss!!! Can't find a bad... More

From the moment we were greeted by a very friendly manager that took our coats and welcomed us we felt that it was going to be a great experience and it was. The ambience is pretty casual, nice artwork on the walls but wooden tables and chairs. The menu is small but has a nice variety and the food is... More

My husband and I shared the Pork Shank and we thought the food was good. The service was also wonderful.

We were there for Oysters and caviar... Terrible service, completely overrated and totally over priced . Do not recommend at any point or time...

There are several high end restaurants to choose from in Whistler, but this is the one I would suggest. It has a cozy and friendly atmosphere where you would feel comfortable in jeans or dressed up for a night out. I had the Cassoulet of Chorizo and Smoked Pork Belly and it was hands down the best meal I had... More

Just another restaurant at a ski resort. Food was good, but not too special. Service was precise and nice. Ambiance has nothing special. Location is not as central as it looks, depending where are you staying.

We dined at AB as a party of 6 last week. The shared appetiser plate was an absolute winner - recommend it 100%. We decided to focus on Canadian fare - the Elk was a little overwhelmed by the foie gras it came with but the Bison well worth a try. Wine list was good but a little pricy.

Description
Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.
