We ate lunch here on the recommendation of a local Victorian. Good food. Nice homemade soup. Decent selection.

My wife and I recently went to Took's on Cook for lunch. I had a reuben sandwich which was wonderful. Lots of sauerkraut and corned beef. My wife had the soup the day which she said was delicious. I will most certainly come back here again.
Never been here before even though they've been on Cook Street a very long time. We were very surprised how large this place is because from the outside it looks tiny. Wonderful coffee and made to order sandwiches for us that day. We'll be back another day though to try some of their amazing goodies they had on display.
We happened upon this place, but it's worth seeking out if you want a casual, authentic spot for locals. Great baked goods and hot drinks. I wouldn't seek it out for meal, but for snacks it's affordable as it's off the beaten path and good.
The food was better than the meeting, by far. A club house, custom made on bread, well, that tasted home baked. The lunch experience was added to by a gracious and friendly staff that really seemed to enjoy their craft! Lunch again soonest!

This is our go to spot for comfort food every time we are in Victoria, BC. Shepherd's Pie is outstanding as usual. Their homemade pastries don't disappoint. Their soup and made to order sandwiches are divine. Is you are looking for a great lunch spot you won't be dis-satisfied.
