Everything was excellent here. From salad, French onion soup, muddled, steak (porterhouse and sirloin), truffle and Parmesan frites. Too full for dessert. Definitely a favourite for locals as watched numerous regulars come in and out and they were clearly recognized. Steak is not on their menu, they have it on a chalkboard once you are in the restaurant.

Since discovering this restaurant less than a month ago we've been here three times. It is officially our new downtown favourite. The service is impeccable. The food is Devine. We can't stop ordering the steak and hamburger and endive salad. Our neighbour had a pork and pasta dish that we wish we had ordered. We really need to explore the... More

Victorians tend to LOVE to line up for food. It's like a religion here: The longer the line, the better the food must be, right? I do not subscribe to this belief system. If I'm to pay for my food I don't line up for that privilege. So, brasserie's pretentious 'no reservations' policy downgrades my rating. The food was delicious... More

Get there early! You won't be disappointed. We lined up at 4:50 for a 5:30 pm opening and I'm glad we did (see photo of line up). The food and service was great. I recommend the trout on the menu this week. It was so delicious! This restaurant doesn't take reservations so line up early and wait to be amazed!

Nice size and layout, though a little loud with no soft surfaces to absorb the sound bounce. Could not determine if music was on but might add to ambiance if there was. Decided to order gourgeres to start(sort of a popover with cheese in the batter) which was tasty though not warmed all the way through - so not made... More

Dined here for the first time last week. It was excellent! I always feel the food is the most important part of the dining out experience and tend to let other little annoyances take a back seat when rating a restaurant. The steak was presented in a red wine reduction with a slab of blue cheese butter on top. So... More

Such a lovely restaurant, with equally lovely service. Everyone we encountered here was so welcoming, from the gentleman who greeted us when we arrived, to our more than helpful server. We both had the mussels in wine and thyme broth - delicious - and shared the endive salad with bacon and hazelnuts, which was also delicious and plenty for the... More

Very charming, cozy and warm French bistro. The burger was one of the best I've had and the steak was excellent too. We weren't as impressed with the frites - but overall it was a nice delicious meal.

Two couples for dinner. All the food was excellently prepared with fresh ingredients. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the beef cheeks felt apart in your mouth. Will be back soon.
