A used to be a huge fan of this restaurant. I went today and I was very disappointed. The sushi is not the same. I stopped going there because I moved from downtown to North Vancouver. I took my sister and my aunt who are visiting me in Canada but we weren't impressed.

This restaurant is a hole in the wall and it's busy! That's because the food is delicious and very economical! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The roll combo's are ample and enough for two people to share easily. Really good service too considering that this place is so busy! People are seated and served... More

I saw the raving reviews - and so I made a trip down and ordered only the Kadoya Roll for myself. Positives: The portion was good enough that I can order just that for a light dinner (maybe 60% satiated). Tea is free. Neutral: Wasabi is made from the paste - sure, it is not a fancy restaurant. Taste-wise, the... More

Looking for a late lunch that could serve as a main meal, we landed at this place in the early afternoon. We opted for the Pork Katza Bento Box, a real deal with Miso Soup, Tempura, Sushi, Salad, Rice and the advertised Pork Katza. It was all delicious and well presented for around $10. Who could ask for anything more?

I've eaten here a couple of times, and they have definitely taken liberties within the sushi genre, by adding some pretty outrageous rolls like the 'volcano'. So theirs is a hybrid cuisine- I'd call it west coast Japanese fusion. Just about everything I saw people eating was being devoured to the ground-always a good sign. Their bento boxes are generous... Always love Sushi when I come to Vancouver. Decided on Kadoya since it's walking distance from my Hotel. I love Sashimi and was unsure what else to get so I asked the server and she recommended the 6 piece Tuna/Salmon Sashimi with Sakura rolls (Spicy Tuna, Chopped Scallop) and Miso Soup-absolutely delicious all of this under $20 including 20% tip... We arrived late so had to take out, so can't say too much. The spicy salmon and spicy tuna tasted very similar. What I liked was it was a bit spicy.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside and the decor on the inside could use a little sprucing up, however, it was the best sushi I have ever had!

Visiting Vancouver for the first time. Stayed downtown. Found this great hole in the wall within walking distance. Sooo fresh and delicious. Gotta try it!

I went with my partner and we had the most amazing sushi ever. King's and Maple rolls. Highly recommend. Prices are good too.

Staying in Davie Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
