My husband and I visited for lunch. I had the gyro, he had lamb souvlaki. It was wonderful. We sat outside in the little outdoor seating area. The lamb on my husband's souvlaki was tender. Both of our meals were wonderful. Everything tasted so fresh....More

We had an overall nice evening here. The server was very friendly but slow; she was doing it all, even mixing drinks so they could use some more staff. The food was good, but some dishes not particulary authentic. The beef kabobs were tender but...More

My daughter and I stumbled upon this place while on an overnight trip to Vancouver. We looked at the menu and the Owner "Jimmy" befriended us right away and was very nice and made us feel more than welcome to be visiting. The Calamari is...More

I' ve tasted...dare i say it...worldwide. This place is one of our favourites because of its unfailing ability to produce great food every single time we come. Love the family feel at this restaurant and that the servers are older gentlemen. We always recommend this...More

Excellent food with Greek authenticity. The quality and taste of all the ingredients was exceptional. If you like Greek food, you will struggle to find a better Kleftiko anywhere, even in Greece.

We liked the food - my son and I had the Platter for 2, which contained a bit of everything. The mousaka was the best we've ever had. The spanikopital - excellent also. Our friend had the lamb roast - very tender and flavorful. To...More

Contrary to the mixed reviews below, we dined at Characters Tavern on 24 June (our last night at Vancouver) and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. Perhaps they had changed the chef since 2010. The husband and wife owners were friendly and we enjoyed banters...More

As others have noted, the owners are Indian and seem quite nice--but the Greek dishes, at least, are hard to recognize as Greek, and not worth trying. We dined here on a family vacation, as our introduction to Vancouver's dining scene--not recommended.

This is an average, yet overpriced restaurant just a block away from the HI on Burnaby Street. The places saving grace was that when I was taken there at around 2 am sober, I left at 4 am very tipsy! The trick I found out...More

Inveresting mix of Indian, Greek and Italian. The food is good, and it's inexpensive. It makes for a place you can visit every week. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired but you can't have it all!

Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver.
It is the only like area in the world to have a
permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the
city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging
from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant.
By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic
boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines,
humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside
