We went without a reservation and were very lucky to get a table. Between our party of four we got the butter lettuce salad, lobster bisque, bone marrow and seafood appetizers. All we very good and we agreed we would order again. For the main courses we got the sea bass, peppercorn tenderloin and sweet breads. Every meal was cooked... More

Smart restaurant with a surprisingly extensive top notch menu. It is unusual to get a combination of excellent service (by Jonathan), large portions of very good food and overall good value. I would highly recommend.

One of our family members visiting from overseas had visited Le Crocodile many years ago and had fond memories of the French dining experience with multiple courses and sorbet in between to cleanse the palette. The restaurant is rated 5th in the city so we thought this was a good reason to give it a try and see if it... More

Wonderful selection of wines, a menu that is very current yet has traditional dishes and house marquee items. We visited on a tuesday night at it was busy, this is a popular spot because the food is delicious. Had to try the Tomatoe and Gin soup just because I had never heard of such a combination. What a surprising delicate... More

I got there 115pm on a weekday and waited and waited for order to be taken. Evidentially it happened but wait was excessive. In their defence, both an appetiizer and small sherbet for dessert. was offered to me for free. The food was overall good but richer than preference. Like anywhere else where I dine, I expect restaurant management to... More

Hadn't been to Le Croc for years....and now I wonder why not! Such a treat to enjoy old world charm, with impeccable service, and creative dishes. Made to feel at home and yet special, all in one. The Alsatian onion tart remains sublime. There are many reasons this restaurant remains as a top for any occasion.

We invited three other couples to join us. And we are so glad we did! Superb service and food. We were politely greeted for our reservation but NEVER felt put down. We wanted a night of conversation and reunion and good food/wine. We struck gold! This is how fine dining should be! Our waiter (Barrett) was patient and gracious. Cannot... More

I have been eating at this restaurant since 1987. It is without question my favourite in the world. The service is excellent, but the food is outstanding. The value is unparalleled.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
