Three of us each ordered different meals and all really enjoyed the food. We sampled 3 different types of beer including a sour beer. Service was outstanding!

“To slake that hungry gut of his” Jay Macpherson – The Fisherman Brix & Mortar ticks all the boxes. The bar is exceptionally well stocked, and more importantly the barmen know precisely what they are doing. I rated my Martini 9.75 out of 10. The food is innovative without being pretentious, and it’s obvious that some care goes into sourcing... More

I went to Brix and Mortar for a wedding once and enjoyed the food so much that I had to come back for dinner in the main restaurant. My sister and I shared the spinach risotto, which was out of this world and I would eat it for every meal if I could, and a cheese plate. Banana bread pudding... More

Intimate, busy, great style, good food, excellent people. This is a great find in Yale town. Not pretentious but still very high quality and professional. Special night out spot. From the front door person, to our server Nina - all really friendly and helpful people. Made the night special. Redeemed our faith in quality restaurants. I wish there was a... More

Had an early valentines day dinner here. The food was great and I really enjoyed the wine list as well. Service was decent, but the meal was comparatively quite expensive to other restaurants of this level. The restaurant itself is nice but can be a bit loud as the tables are quite close together. I would recommend requesting to sit... More

Friends from work recommended we eat here and it was our favorite place we dined during our trip. We all enjoyed different things from the menu and no one was disappointed.

There are dozens of restaurants nearby in Yaletown, but seek this one out. My wife has several food allergies and the staff went to great lengths to accommodate her. Most servers only check what is actually put on the plate. Our server went to the chef to ask what was in the stock just to be sure. They checked the... More

Wasn't expecting a lot as this was the 'dine out' specials, which usually means cheapened down somehow. Went in early and we were the only people in the room, and every other restaurant was full so a bit disconcerting. I shouldn't have worried. Place filled up quickly. Reception showed my guest to the table, I like that. (often they just... More

There was nothing wrong, but the place somehow lacks excitement, ambiance and atmosphere. Service was courteous and attentive, food was good, place has a bar like noise level. For $70 a person (salad, main and a couple of glasses of wine), i was hoping for something more...memorable. There are good people working in there, i just think the ownership needs... More

We walked to Yaletown after the game and looked for Brix. It is actually on Hamilton street! Tasty food and excellent service. The manager comped one of our dishes because we walked around the block looking for the entrance. Totally unexpected. Delicious and will go back.

Thank Kimberly B

A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed food and beverage program-including 60+ wines by the glass-offered with the same on-point service, starting at 5:00 pm daily. The new menu features modern Canadian cuisine with subtle French, Italian and Asian influences and locally sourced ingredients. Accessible from both Homer and Hamilton St., Brix & Mortar offers 228 seats, with 80 situated over two outdoor patios, including the iconic outdoor courtyard-a favourite for hosted events and weddings. The downstairs space has undergone an exciting redesign, creating a fine-dining room suitable for any occasion or appetite.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
