John Bishop has been serving beautiful food to Vancouver patrons for over 30 years at this simple, elegant location on West 4th. What a lovely place to go for a fine meal with friends or family. Food was absolutely delicious and John is the consummate host, so welcoming! A very special place to dine, take your time and really enjoy... More

Many times, its easy to overlook classic dining, and seek out some radical fusion, or endlessly chase trends suggested by others...but when you really need to have a complete dining experience, Bishop's is the place. I was utterly conquered by the best Manhattan I can recall consuming on a night that was so dismal wet. Our host immediately set us... More

My guests and I were treated to a sumptuous meal and anazing drinks, delightfully served. Not sure if I know how to attach the photo of the Oceanwise Sole, but it was certainly a standout amongst a stellar dinner.

Over the years we have visited this icon of a restaurant for special occasions, but last Sunday we went just because, with friends, and it was amazing. With the addition of a new chef (who completely nailed it) this is a place you need to visit-whether from out of town or living in vancouver. The room is very intimate and... More

Had not been in a number of years and could not remember why? Always amazing people lot guide you, creative edge to traditional cuisine, and fine wine list to go with everything on the menu. There is also the every changing NW Coast Art!

I last visited Bishop's in 2000 when I was on holiday in Vancouver and previous to that when I lived in Vancouver in the early 1990s. The standards at this restaurant have stood the test of time. The food is brilliant, the service is second to none and the ambience is fantastic. The attention to detail and the creativity of... More

Bishop's is supposed to be one of Vancouver's best restaurants but I was completely underwhelmed. I've lived in Vancouver for 5 years, never been to Bishop's so when friends (2 couples) from London, UK visited Vancouver, I decided to take them to Bishop's to show them what Vancouver has to offer. They paid for me, I was disappointed with my... More

We are semi sort of kind of regulars at Bishops. With the ever changing seasonal menu and the always plentiful specials you can't help but to have a great meal. There are no throwaways options on the menu. Each one is amazingly full of taste and creatively. Even the amuse bouche is great. Wine list is reasonable with some good... More

The service is superb from start to the end. The food is very good, however not the best in Vancouver. Great for special occasions.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
