I have been here a number of times. Had the scrambled eggs that were delicious. Comes in a mason jar along side a delicious pice of bread (I don't know what they put on it, but it was yummy.

The meals were wonderful, especially the gnocchi. It was light and fluffy, where gnocchi is usually, well, substantial. The special, pasta in diavolo sauce, was bright and flavourful. The restaurant coped very well with those of us who had special diets--they were accommodating and not annoyed by it. While the menu is not extensive, there is something for everyone. Service... We chose Fable based on reviews, proximity to our hotel and menu selections. A small place on a busy 4th St in Kits, we arrived 5 mins before scheduled opening and were warmly welcomed. We experienced exceptional and entertaining service from our outgoing waiter with the British accent. Started with mimosas, one orange, one grapefruit, both delicious. Then the Chickpea... More

I ate here before and was disapointed by the staff attitude. They still seem to have a policy of telling you how long the table is booked for (implying that you have to leave at that time), but at least on this occasion they offered me more time if I needed it. Once I get over the "we want to... More

Thank you for your visit and the kind compliments to food and service! I do apologize that having to share the time that the table is free for left the impression of a poor attitude in the past. As you know it is a small room and since we tend to fill nightly, need to clarify if the length of... More

This way better than Farmer's Apprentice and better service. Food was great but my paella a bit spicy. Probably will try the brunch

Very high food quality. Everything we tried on the Dine-out menu was excellent. Good service. Great desserts.

We reserved for 5 pm for Dine out Vancouver and were very excited about trying this Farm to Table concept restaurant. It was one of the worst food experiences I have had in years. The best thing about this restaurant was the service which was extremely good. The food was so disappointing. The fritters were tiny and overcooked and not... More

The worst meal of your life! That is terrible. The DOV price of $30 dollars for a three course meal which would normally cost $45-ish (the Paella being as you mentioned normally $28 dollars alone and appies and desserts adding another $8-10 each) is a fantastic deal BUT even $2 paid for the worst meal of a lifetime is not... We've had Fable on our radar for years now and finally made a trip in to give it a try. While it was quite good it fell short of the anticipation and glowing diner's reviews. The highlight of the night were the Chickpea Fritters, simple but flavourful. The Mushroom Cavatelli was rich and earthy, but the texture was a little... More

Thank you for your many compliments and so sorry to hear that we didn't wow you based on expectations. Thank you for giving us a try during our first foray into Dine Out Vancouver. We have had fabulous feedback from so many guests for this and the value that it presents (example of this is the review just previous). I... More

My husband ate here a couple weeks ago during a work trip. After getting a live play by play of his meal, and the conclusion that it was the best meal he'd ever had, I knew I also had to go. When I made the reservation via e-mail, I got a prompt confirmation, and a heads up that we would... More

Fable has a pretty casual atmosphere, no-one is terribly dressed up, the tables are fairly close together, but the conversation buzz is good, and everyone is having a good time. I owe this review to the owner/manager who was so gracious after i gave a bad review to sister restaurant Mission. However, it is sincerely my honest opinion. We are... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
