We arrived at 6:30pm for dinner and it was empty. We ordered the vegetarian sampler for 2 with spicy lamb. Our children were so hungry, but eventually fell asleep because it did take around 30 minutes for our food to arrive. But once we received it we literally ate the entire dish, there was nothing left. The injera was so... More
Unpretentious tasty food from a limited menu featuring Moroccan, South African, and Ethiopian cuisine. My prawn dish was very tasty and not bland spice wise, my vegetarian companions were satisfied and the lamb tagine was considered good by other companion. Good size servings, beer well priced, and best of all no obsequious going through the motion servers -- just the... More
We've been a number of times and it's always amazing. Very friendly service and well formed flavours. A treat for sure. While it's a touch off the beaten track it's worth the effort / adventure.
A small neighborhood place that serves great food. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We had the Ethiopian vegetarian plate for 2. It was delicious, with each curry and vegetable well spiced and the tastes very distinct from one another. It was a generous amount of food and a good value for the price.
I stumbled on this little cafe by accident. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Lamb Stew and loved it. I asked for spicy and that was what I got. But I didn't mind. I have say I went in with zero expectations and came out wowed. It's a quaint simply place but I thought the food was fantastic.
I never read any of the reviews before going to this cafe, but I noticed the cafe, when I was passing by and wanted to try it. The design and decor inside is very appealing! It's simple but very beautiful! The waitress was the owner herself. Together with her husband they run the restaurant. She suggested a dish for us... More
I came across this restaurant as I was walking towards a Japanese restaurant. There weren't a lot of people eating in there and it was a little dark. I saw their menu on the window and decided to give it a shot. i was greeted very warmly by this young woman. She asked if I was familiar with Etheopian food.... More
I was the only one of our party of six who had previously eaten Ethiopian cuisine, so we asked Kidist to suggest a meal. It was outstanding. The goat stew, cabbage, lentils, etc. were all delicious, and the variety was nice. We also ordered Kitfo, which I would highly recommend.
We stumbled upon this restaurant as it was a short walk from our hotel. We were a large multi-generational group, only one of whom had experience with Ethiopian food. We invited Kidist to feed us her best, and she did not disappoint. Personally, I would not have ordered "goat stew", and it turned out to be my favourite. The variety... More
