I visited this cafe with friends while on holiday in Vancouver. Coming from Australia, the coffee offerings in Canada had been a little disappointing, so it was a welcome relief to visit Revolver and renew our belief in good coffee! Revolver has an extensive coffee menu using a variety of brewing methods. In terms of food, there are a small... More

First time ever trying Pour Over coffee, and it was great. And make sure you order their chocolate cake too!

Probably to be expected that there'd be difficulty finding seating to enjoy a coffee at such a popular coffee spot. Ended up getting coffee to go and enjoyed it near the water a couple blocks away (fair alternative, though not the same ambiance.) they have a good selection of different coffees from around the world.

Over recent years I've really enjoyed seeing the explosion of speciality coffee around the world. I make it a point to try and visit a few places whenever I'm in a new city. All of these new shops and coffee roasters do a pretty good job of introducing new beans and brewing techniques. I wandered into Revolver on a cold... More

Had a couple of excellent coffees here (eating in) and a couple of pretty average ones (take-away). Maybe that was the probelm. Nice muffins and buns to start the day.

Ask jittery hipstsers for the best coffee in B.C., and they're likely to mention this place. Tucked among the graffiti-rich ally ways of Gastown, Revolver features a memorable atmosphere of hand-crafted coffee and curious consumption apparatuses. Precision takes time. Expect the baristas to devote several minutes to combing fresh grounds over the Chemex filter for brewed coffee. Expect them to... More

Always reliable for whatever coffee chosen. It was a bonus to sit in the 2nd room at a long communal table well occupied by so many young people while I drank my latte. Products & books among other things pertaining to coffee are on shelves in this room. Service was good too. I'll return.

Wow! Phenomenal coffee, perfectly executed. In town for a couple days for a conference, and made my way here every day. Carry range of roasters, from local Matchstick to SanFran, Calgary to accommodate every palate. If you really care about coffee, this is your place. Only disappointment: closed Sundays.

We had heard great things and our expectations were high. We tried a tasting flight and found the coffee to be very weak and watery. On our way out we tried a latte. It was better but still very mild. Good atmosphere, but we found the coffee a little underwhelming. Not quite what we were hoping for.

Revolver is all about execution. They nail espresso drinks, aero press, pour overs, you name it. They are not a roaster but have some of the best beans anywhere and you can get a tasting flight too. Only catch is that they are closed on Sunday. Less obvious, this is also a major hang out for local photographers so you... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
