We went for the vegetarian cooking class. My husband and I cook a lot so we already knew some of the techniques. But we were remarking that there were people there who don't really cook so the tips were good for them and good for us to review. The recipes were not only fairly easy but super tasty!! We even... We did the "Creme de la Creme" class. The chef was great. I learned some new techniques and recipes and had a great evening!

The Demo and Dine evening is really fun. Started with a glass of sparkling wine and wine is served with each course. Chef Takashi (TK) prepares the meal and gives entertaining and interesting tips on each course and dish, then you get to eat it! Menu was superb: Okonomiyaki (pancake), chicken yakitori, miso sake roasted sablefish, green thai curry chicken,... More

Our kids have treated us to the Dirty Apron twice, and it's never a disappointment. Upon arrival, the (maximum 22) students sit and chat over a glass of champagne and foccacia bread. Next, we move to the classroom and watch the teacher make the first creation... the first course of the evening. Once viewed, we each move to our work... More

The teacher David made the evening fun! The food was delicious and I learned lots of tricks to try at home. I love to cook and enjoyed watching someone else cook and then trying the dishes. There were 7 couples for the event. Wine was served with each course and sparkling wine when you arrived. I definitely recommendthis for a... More

We've all done cooking classes, but what happens at Dirty Apron is exceptional. From demonstrations to hands-on cooking, it was well-organized and super fun. Great equipment, varied courses, printed recipes to take home. Went with family friends...would do it again!

This place is a gem, if you are in the area drop in and check out the food. I had sandwich (fish) and a couple of their amazing salads.

This was an amazing experience that I would gladly do again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the cooking experience. The food we made was outstanding including the salmon wellington, Moroccan lamb and the caramel lemon semifreddo as well as all the other dishes. I would not hesitate doing any cooking class here and can't wait to do... More

I want to go here soon. But for a class. The place looks like a deli. I'm cool with it but would like to sample food in the afternoon. Have lots of local talent all around surprised the don't have a test kitchen for local establishments to use guinea pigs for all the local places to grab chefs. This should... More

Our company recently treated us to COOKING SCHOOL as a team building/fun event. What an amazing idea!! Wine was generously poured from the moment we arrived. Chef Takashi demonstrated 3 courses of Italian Fare. Handmade Dungeoness Crab stuffed Canneloni in a buttery tomato sauce, Grilled Pork Tenderloin with fingerling potatoes and haricots vert with fresh salsa verde, and finally Rosemary... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
