We were in town for Easter Sunday and were looking for a spot to grab brunch. After a little searching, we found the Flying Pig. As we had our three-year-old daughter with us and a stroller, we weren't sure if they could accommodate us. I went in to inquire and by the time I turned around a man had our... More

Friendly welcome We were seated quickly even though they were busy with people going to hockey game. Great service with helpful suggestions. Had the salmon and the pork chop. Loved the salmon....just what I wanted. Poutine with pork was better than expected as we didn't think we liked Poutine Brussel sprouts were okay but not our thing. Crowded yes but... More

We were in Vancouver for a couple of nights, getting caught up with old high school friends. We went to the Flying Pig for some pregame (Whitecaps) appies and beers. My favourites were the salmon cakes and chicken drumsticks. They were truly excellent. Plus the selection of craft beers was top notch.

Today I went to the flying pig and when I walked in waitress had a smile on their face and we're happy to serve. Also my child wanted chicken tenders and fries but they didn't have it on the menu. I asked them if they can make it and they were happy to do it. Lastly the food, it was... More

First time there - ordered a wild seafood pappardelle and it was overcooked and bland. My companion's trout with salad was OK. The decaf cappuccino was flavourful and the bill came up to $ 43. The service was pretty friendly but it wasn't enough for us to visit FP again, Give this one a miss.

We stopped for a quick lunch while on a business trip. This is really a lovely restaurant. We were greeted warmly, given an excellent seat and attended to promptly. The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Our meals were fantastic, and the atmosphere is great. Looking forward to returning! Thank you for a wonderful mid-day lunch.

We happened in on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. We were told there would be 20 minute wait. We agreed and 15 minutes later there was a table for two available. I must comment that the noise level is very high. I order the poutine as a side and that was all I wanted as I am... More

Came here for dinner on a rainy day around 5:30pm and it was quite packed at the bar. Luckily, there were some tables for two available for dinner. Food portions are huge for "tapa-style" servings. We enjoyed the following: Roasted beet salad with pears, goat cheese, candied walnuts--yummy! Daily special soup--roast pork and vegetables...a bit salty but satisfied the yearning... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
