I wonder what the original business use to be at this location. You have to go downstairs, and try not to have a table near the door on a cold night. But the food was amazing, especially the falaffel (crusty bits of tastiness) and hummus (tangy with a bit of flavorful zip). I just might have to quit my job... More

Nuba! As a Middle-Eastern, I did not think much of this place and would chuckle at the very mention of it. Visiting Vancouver many times, I never took the initiative to eat here despite numerous recommendations and positive online reviews. Little did I know that the laugh is on me. I ate at Nuba, no, I had the privilege to... More

My sister and I recently visited Nuba, as it had been recommended by friends. What an excellent choice for dinner! Not knowing what to expect in a Lebanese restaurant, we explored a range of small plates, each of them savoury and delicious. The vibe at Nuba is charming. Service is responsive and good. Patrons represent a range of ages with... More

Regardless of whether you are from the 'hinterland' (rural parts) like us, or from the urban districts, seeking out Nuba in Vancouver is a must. Our planned day in Van. was all about 'feeling' the city on a normal work day, so we savored the walking about until our hunger kicked in. Yes, we had lots of choices, but Nuba... More

Love this place!!! Great food, amazing staff, and cool atmosphere. The place is always packed so either make reservations or get there on the early side of the dinner rush. I highly recommend ordering the "Feast for 2" it won't disappoint.

Great experience! Some how, as a group of 8, they were able to get us a table on a Friday night with no reservation. The food was so tasty. Everything tasted great, fresh, and light. Overall I would say the food is pretty healthy, not too salty and a lot of nice vegetarian options. I highly recommend the feast for... More

Nuba Gastown is located down a flight of stairs in a daylight birthday, and you should definitely give it a try. All of dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. They're generous as well-you will not need as many as you want! They also serve excellent coffee drinks.

Food was awesome and the staff was super nice. Bartenders were great! We did not have a reservation, but we waited for about 30 minutes and got seated. It was pretty quick. Make a reservation if you can. Great ambiance and excellent food!

This was our second time at Nuba, having come across it by chance on a previous visit to Vancouver. It is an unassuming place down a few steps from street level. The subterranean feel is welcoming and cozy as soon as you enter. The restaurant attracts a wide range of customers and everyone is having fun and enjoying the food.... More

This was a delicious, well prepared, authentic, Mediterranean restaurant. It was quite surprising define this restaurant in Vancouver, as I would not have expected it. The food was fresh and plentiful with extraordinarily good tasting vegetarian fare. There were six of us and we ordered a couple of the sampler trays of meat and vegetables and were quite delighted. The... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
