Wholesome and tasty. The creamed corn is a must have, as is the beef brisket. Portions are good too. Probably the best brisket in town.

The drink selection is fine.my husband enjoyed his beef bun and fries. The chicken sandwhich had a weird vinegry taste. Breading bland. I could not eat it. Potato salad was quite good. Coleslaw was very bland. I only ate 1/4 of my plate. I told the very friendly server that it wasn't to my taste and I think she thought... More

This delivered just what we needed on a really chilly January day. Hearty filling food. Mac n cheese, fried chicken and a chilled out feel. Special mention should go to the waitress who delivered the goods despite being on her own in a full bar. She never stopped. Go here for tasty lunch.

Peckinpah has a lot going for it and deserves the praise it receives. Located in the heart of gastown, Peckinpah has one of the most ideal locations. Although my most recent visit was in the winter, the restaurant also has an outdoor patio that is hopping in the summer. Offering some solid BBQ eats and selection of local craft beer,... More

Walked in out of the snow and we're greeted immediately with a friendly smile and asked to take a seat. Great selection of local beers and home made cocktails, even gluten free beers options for my wife! Had the tasting platter and all was explained to us, which combs work best with which sauce etc! Great food and a great... More

I liked it so much I went back a second time. This is a small and lively place in an excellent location. I travel for work & often eat alone. This is a good place for that, because it is lively, with plenty to see. The food & beer selection was fantastic. Price was also reasonable considering the quality. I've... More

Whilst visiting Vancouver on business happened upon this place. Was very much amused by the sign in the window reading 'Vegans with very loose morals welcome'. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Regarding the food, ate there twice and both times was astounded by the flavours, the smoked meats were very good, not overpowering just enough that you taste... More

This is a typical Gastown coffee shop restaurant in the heart of the area. Its mainly open air and very popular with tourists. As can be seen from the attached pics the staff have a great sense of humour, The food and drink is run of the mill but its a great fun place .

My partner and I were in the area on business for a couple of days and found ourselves wandering in Gastown looking for a funky restaurant. This place seemed pretty cool from the signage, so we went in. There was only one occupied table in the restaurant, and we were directed to a small table squished into a corner. We... More

So many places to choose from in Gastow!! We chose Peckinpah, just because the menu looked a little different. We definitely weren't disappointed, simple BBQ and smoke house food superbly cooked. The slow cooked brisket was melt in the mouth and the pulled pork, succulent. We couldn't decide on quite what to have so we had a mixture to share.... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
