Great Sashimi, fresh and nice sized. The quinoa cone with tartare tuna or salmon is great. I found this place on the web, went back the very next dsy for a sashimi repeat.

This place has inviting decor, you are greeted and welcomed, the menu is eclectic and somewhat adventurous, the food tasted good. I like the conscientious approach, the fact the place was spotless, the brown rice, the made-from-scratch curries. This is not high cuisine like, for example Tojo's, but for a $10 lunch, nobody could complain. It beats out many dozens... More

Excellent customer service, free and constant refill of green tea, yummy food. Lots of organic options and one of the few sushi places offering brown rice. The new location is bigger and welcoming. The food is fresh and the price is very reasonable; plus, they're trying to be a zero waste restaurant which is always a plus.

Awesome... Now the best sushi in town is in a new and better place. The food is amazing and now it does not have the smell of deep fry. Now it is a five stars restaurant. You will not regret. And... I love my wife.

Food at this little joint is delicious and the service was attentive. Careful you don't miss it going south along Hornby just past the law courts and Tim Horton's. There is a lunch menu which has some deals on it although the larger dinner menu has a lot of options. Lots of healthy options including organic brown rice and gluten... More

Making healthy food is something dear to my heart. In fact, there is that small sushi place in Phoenix AZ that makes the most amazing nigiri with brown rice. Shine Ya tried the same, but I feel misses the spot. It starts with the fact that the selection of seafood is very limited. Not only that, but a place that... More

The place is very cozy and pretty. We loved every dish and every drink we had. My little one couldn't stop eating sashimis! It had a lot of vegan options and even a vegan dessert, pumpkin pudim. I recommend this place, no doubt.

This little place offers rolls made of organic brown rice, organic greens and is vegetarian friendly. A healthy place for a bite ! The place is usually packed during lunch and dinner times. They do take-out too.

Since my husband loves sushi, we eat it almost weekly. Since we've been visiting Vancouver for a week now, we've been trying different sushi restaurants. In my books, Shizen Ya is the best that I have ever had!!! We'll eat there again before we leave Vancouver for sure!!!

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
