I've been here twice so far, once for my birthday dinner, and again recently for lunch. Both times, it's been a treat of exceptional food, service, atmosphere, and education. The bison burger is the best burger in town, which I say as quite the burger aficionado. The bannock buns are excellent and hold up much better than any brioche or... More

This was my third visit to Salmon n' Bannock and definitely won't be my last; luckily I live in Vancouver and I can go all the time now. I first was introduced to the restaurant by a friend in the know and have since enjoyed a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and some of the best food in Vancouver. The Salmon... More

My mother was visiting from Nova Scotia so tried S&B for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. We both were blown away! It was seriously the best meal we have had in Vancouver. The cozy restaurant was tastefully decorated with First Nations artwork, and the service was as warm and friendly as the atmosphere. We had the... More

I really enjoyed the selected meats platter and the bannock! I was there for an ATBC event and the staff went above and beyond to make the night a success. Great atmosphere and great food.

Whilst on the plane travelling to Canada for a family wedding we starting talking to the Air Hostess who was asking about our visit to Canada and what we had planed we didn't really have anything set in stone to do in Vancouver until we headed back from Naramata then we would decide. The air hostess suggested we visit a... More

We went to Salmon n' Bannock after visiting the Museum of Anthropology and we were not disappointed. First, we highly recommend making reservations early as this is a very small restaurant. The food was so different from anything we have eaten (and we have traveled all over the world). The staff was so friendly and took the time to explain... More

Description
We are Vancouver's only First Nations restaurant. We specialize in wild fish, free range game meat and of course bannock, freshly baked daily. We use traditional ingredients that we prepare and present in a modern way. In our small casual bistro everyone is welcome as they are. In the spirit of First Nations' traditions, our intention is to provide a gathering place where the focus is on the people and the food. Inez (Nuxalk Nation) and Remi Owners

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
