Most of the food dishes we had were really fantastic, fine, innovative, beautifully presented, and layered ... but not all: buried amidst the offering were a few highly conventional dishes that took nothing to make or simply reflected grand pretensions but fell short on the level of flavour and complexity. The service was actually relatively unprofessional - putting what appear... More

We have been to La Quercia several times and every time we go, the best gets even better!!! Everything from the atmosphere, the service and the food is fantastic. Our dinner was a special occasion, our friends are expecting a baby any day and we wanted to treat them. They loved it too! Geraldine, our server was amazing, the food... More

What a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant. This is a small place so I'd strongly suggest making a reservation. Diners have a choice of ordering a la carte or going "alla famiglia" which sees the waiter bringing group dishes for sharing. The latter option is based on the chef making the selections although these are generally from the posted specials and I'm... More

A fake Italian restaurant, the service is ridiculous, they don't know anything about wines and have expansive bottles without any knowledge of them. THe food is not bad, but not carefully prepared. I went there prepared for an amazing dinner and I've been very disappointed. I won't go there if I were YOU...

This is a neighbourhood restaurant at its best. La Quercia is fine dining yet relaxed and intimate. They take great care in their choice of ingredients, fresh and seasonal and made in-house. It was a perfect experience from the sounds of the kitchen to the diners, servings chosen by the chef, well matched wines, and the sense of being well... More

This was our fifth time at this special restaurant. Each time the creative dishes surprise and delight us. These guys are very creative the constantly changing menu means that you don't need to re-visit the same dishes every time.

We came to this restaurant last year based on it's appearance in Macleans' Top 50 Restaurants in Canada publication. We enjoyed the 7-course alla famiglia tasting menu, so we decided to try it again. Every course was beautifully presented and showed a sophistication and elegance that will guarantee that we will continue to come here, year after year. We made... More

We came here in 2011 when visiting VanCity and had a fabulous experience. When we talked about coming back to Vancouver this summer we both were excited to try La Quercia again. Our experience was just as good the second time through. The service is professional and not intrusive. The food is varied, unique and exceptionally well prepared. We did... More

Luckily we were able to make a reservation with little notice on their first day back from vacation. This is small, cozy, but comfortably elegant space that's busy. We went with the Alla Famiglia, a seven course Chef's menu which consisted of 3 starters, 2 pastas, a main, and dessert. This is similar to the Japanese "omakase" - you leave... More

Even though this restaurant is difficult to get a reservation it is definitely worth the effort. We dined family style and we rewarded with a number of absolutely delicious dishes that kept on coming. It was a wonderful tasting delight. This meal stands out as one of my most memorable food experiences.

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
