We had a great lunch. Very fresh sushi. Probably the best chicken teriyaki I've ever had. Friendly staff and quick service. Not much to look at from outside but definitely go inside where it's really nicest the food is great!

What a great meal! We had a nice ramen dinner. The ambiance was wonderful. The noise level was low. They kept bringing out amazing and fresh plates to tables around us. The prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is as nice as could be. Great area to walk around afterwards.

I came here a year ago for lunch in the summer and really enjoyed it so I recommended it to my friends for dinner in February with glowing recommendation. Got there and the service was less than adequate with the host wanting nothing to do with us. He sat us at a table by 2 empty booths (restaurant was mostly... More

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of the hotel concierge. The restaurant is great. I had a variety of sashimi and rolls and was very impressed by the quality of the fish. It's a small place and it was packed so i'm clearly not the only one in the know about this one. I'd highly recommend it.

Since it was raining we found the closest place to our location, so we stopped in not knowing what to expect. Immediately we were greeted by a full restaurant and a smiling relaxed hostess. And things only got better from there. The quality of the sushi and the chef's presentation were exceptional. The wait staff covered if our server if... More

We were hosted by friends at this downtown location the Granville Strip. Staff friendly and easygoing. Location right near Pacific Centre. Food was just a little above average. Best menu Items were the Ribs but not cheap, 8 for $20. Desserts okay. The rest of the menu items like Prawn Gyoza and Salmon Tartare were just passable. Pricing was just... More

We were suppose to eat at another Japanese restaurant but couldn't get reservations. Our hotel concierge recommended this place. It did not disappoint. Great selection of sake. We ordered different rolls with a couple of dishes and sashimi. Stand out was the monk fish liver. Great restaurant!

I was looking for a restaurant close to our hotel and picked Shuraku even though it wasn't rated in the top tier on this site. What a delightful find! Fun, vibrant environment and excellent sushi. We had a combination of traditional items (unagi ngiri which was delicious) and two rolls. The rolls were subtle in flavor and absolutely delicious in... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
