A uniquely beautiful restaurant that is a joyous hive of excitement. We were early for our reservation so waited in the bench area for about 10 minutes of gorgeous people watching. Once seated at a table for two we could see all the areas of the restaurant. There is a large overall bar for drinks and meals, a substantial sushi... More

Ii's been a while since we've done sushi in Vancouver, so we were definitely overdue! Checked out a few reputable sources, and considering our lack of vehicle in this fine city, we selected among the more walk-able locations ... and up came Miku, not 1st but honourable mention ... not too shabby! We considered the location and description ... and... More

Great sushi! A wonderful cocktail menu as well. We tried the sake flight as well as the shiso mojito. Both were fantastic! The sushi was great! Ask for a table along the windows by the water. A great view. Service was fantastic but this place gets super busy so be sure to make a reservation in advance!

Asian Canadians are a sizable part of the population in Greater Vancouver, so it makes Asian food was popular in Vancouver. For example, sushi is a symbol of them. I were happy that had a wonderful lunch time in Miku Sushi Japanese Restaurant. All food is very fresh and price is moderatly. The restaurant’s atmospheres is great and lovely. And... More

This restaurant is a must every time I come to Vancouver I can not miss out. I absolutely love it, the food is incredibly innovative and always such an experience. The sushi was fresh and the view was awesome. The only thing I didn't like was that the sushi bar is right in front of the kitchen but, the kitchen had no barrier/glass between itself and the bar. The reason a barrier would be appreciated is because potential patrons could easily cough or sneeze and their germ practicals could hit... More

Surprised by the lively and exciting atmosphere of this restaurant. Nigiri was quite good (not amazing) and we skipped the roles. High fives for the service-the team has been well trained and make you feel welcome. For the quality of our meal and our selection , I thought it was reasonably priced. Hurry up and open in Portland Or!

Description
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly sear is known to enhance the natural flavors of the fish. Miku owner, Seigo Nakamura, innovated the Aburi concept by creating speciality sauces, using non-traditional Japanese ingredients, to complement the unique taste properties of each fish. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Trade & Exhibition Centre, IMAX Theatre, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus. If shopping downtown, join us for lunch and re-energize. It's entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruiseship terminal at Canada Place.

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
