The last time I visited was for a booked room event, but this time went for lunch in the regular dining area. Still good, but stick to the seafood. We booked through OpenTable and arrived early, but once we arrived, they had no problems sitting us down right away by the window. Food reviews: - Ebi Fritter - Fantastic. Really... More

My brother lives in Vancouver and brought us to this restaurant. I love sushi and sashimi so I was expecting just the average meal but it was better than that. The sashimi was to die for and we actually ordered more cause we couldn't get enough!

We heard about Miku restaurant as a must try in Vancouver, so i searched about it online and invited my family to try it out when we visited BC. We called it first and see whether we need to book our table for a party of seven, we were able to booked via Open Table for 6PM. We arrived a... More

I love Sushi and Sashimi and had some in many countries that I have visited included Melbourne Australia which were so far the best I ever had, but the Sushi at Miku Waterfront in Vancouver were totally out of this world and so worth the 30' wait to get a table at busy lunch time! There is no words to... More

I had high hopes for this as it has been lauded as a haven for fabulous contemporary japanese food. Sadly, it was overpriced, emperors new clothes, with a distinct lack of flavour or exciting invention.

Visited Miku twice on my recent visit to Vancouver with friends. Both experiences left me feeling completely satisfied with the food that I had eaten. The salmon oshi, the tuna, prawns, the variety of sushi rolls and so much more was enjoyable to the palate. This restaurant is a happening place--we did not have reservations and waited almost one hour... More

My husband has always refused to try sushi. I love sushi. What a wonderful experience he had when he finally tried it! We started with the edamame which was somehow different to the edamame I have eaten before. The beans were more tender. Then Calamari which was cooked to perfection. But the best was yet to come in the form... More

If you have not tried Aburi sushi, this is the restaurant for you to try it. Due to its proximity to our hotel and a friend's recommendation we went and were not disappointed. The mixture of flavours and textures between the salmon and rice is superb. There are also fusion elements to their other dishes and desserts which makes for... More

This is a must place to eat if you are in Vancouver. Came here twice during our visit in Dec and the food is amazingly delicious. You must try the Salmon Oshi along with the other dishes. It is cooked Aburi style - a type of Japanese cooking. The only disappointment we had was on the Mackerel sashimi as it... More

I have a love for Japanese food and will fancy a meal wherever I travel. This restaurant came as a recommendation from my sister. She raved about the Aburi sushi and decided to book there for lunch. What I had thought of as just flame torched sushi, I was in for a surprise. I made a booking and arrived at... More

We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly sear is known to enhance the natural flavors of the fish. Miku owner, Seigo Nakamura, innovated the Aburi concept by creating speciality sauces, using non-traditional Japanese ingredients, to complement the unique taste properties of each fish. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Trade & Exhibition Centre, IMAX Theatre, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus. If shopping downtown, join us for lunch and re-energize. It's entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruiseship terminal at Canada Place.

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
