Downstream is a nice place to go with a small or large group and offers an excellent selection of food ranging from Elk Steaks, Duck Breast to Baby Back Ribs. Though not the cheapest restaurant in Jasper, it is well worth the extra few dollars....More

We walked in without a reservation on a Saturday evening. We were the first people on the waiting list and had a seat at the bar. The bartender was great, made suggestions for drinks and was not rushing us even though it was busy. The...More

We were looking for somewhere to eat different from the chains but some of the restaurants were already closed for the season. Saw people coming and going from here so checked out menu outside and decided to give it a go. It's downstairs, (there is...More

I decided to come here after a very long day of driving from Banff and hiking a half dozen trails or so later at night to try some of their supposedly good food, but waited about ten minutes and was never even acknowledged. The music...More

Five of us ate dinner one weekend evening. This restaurant is downstairs from the fancier Fiddle River. Obviously the chef is shared and he is both good and creative. The group's dinner choices ranged from Moroccan chicken to short ribs. All were very well prepared,...More

Hello, Thank you for your kind words and we are grateful you enjoyed the products and services we work so diligently to deliver. Just a note to clarify one misunderstanding. The Downstream is not affiliated with the Fiddle River restaurant located above us nor do...More

When I'm in Jasper, I make it a point to eat at Downstream. Each experience has been awesome. The food is well prepared and the atmosphere is very inviting and cosy. The only drawback is the stairs leading down to the restaurant. However, once your...More

So, downstream is my favourite Jasper restaurant, it's a staple for every visit and I often sing it's praises. This time, I'll focus on excellent service. Our server, Trevor A (according to my receipt anyways) accommodated our large group of 16 people and was spectacular...More

We shared the Miso Steak Bites and Downstream Poutine and the Bison Short Ribs. Loved the fact that when I asked for advice about what to order, I got a genuine and thoughtful response from our server Trevor. And he was dead on with his...More

Went there on recommendation of friends. Beer had no fizz, Bison ribs just a tester. If you charge $30 for a rib, you want more than a smear on the plate. Over rated and over priced.

Description
The Downstream was recreated in 2008 by local owner Sotirios Korogonas as a concept for a modern restaurant & lounge that retains Jasper's mountain town spirit and casual feel. Chef David Gomez masterfully delivers Jasper's best homemade meals using only the freshest ingredients. His attention to detail and passion for excellence is defined by the superior reputation his menu and our staff have earned amongst our loyal customers. Shawn Routledge and our service team ARE dedicated to ensuring a superior experience by providing our customers with a truly comfortable atmosphere in the most personal public room in Jasper. Together we have created a menu that is the best dollar for dollar value in the park.
