I do not recommend you spend your hard earned money at this restaurant. Food is not good and service is lacking. There were four of us for breakfast, we ordered off the menu and everyone was very disappointed with their food. The prices are way...too high for the quality of food they serve. For a high end hotel we expected much more. Starbucks would've been a better decision.More
We only stayed at the Westin overnight so we had just one breakfast at Essence on a Friday morning. Prices of ala carte tend to push you towards the buffet, but after seeing nothing special there and no omelette station, we ordered off the menu....We had enough to feel full and the cost was the same as the buffet, without us overeating. At least we had fresh eggs and quite a lot of bacon. Our server was quite nice and attentive.More
The breakfast buffet in The Westin Calgary hotel was fine. They had some multigrain bread & also steel-cut oatmeal. From the comments below, it appears that they may have had an omelette station in the past or perhaps on the weekends? They didn't have one...though when we were there.More
Our tour group spent a night and was treated to the buffet breakfast. The quality and variety was excellent and varied. Fresh omelette station was terrific. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and good quality pastries.
Had a nice lunch here with reasonably priced soup and salad. One of the better hotel restaurants, and the service was good.
I was expecting a little more for the breakfast buffet but it was just o.k. Since it is a highend Hotel, I expected a little more.
Lovely breakfast choices. Freshly cooked egg choices were a great option and the fruit was equally fresh and tasty. Part of our room package, so not sure if value for money or not; but couldn't fault the place.
Some of the food was great and some was undercooked. Service was poor. For the quality of food served the buffet was overpriced.
This was a standard breakfast buffet. They did have an omelet station which was nice. The cost was a bit much for what was included. Service was good.
Serving staff were awesome, prompt, courteous and efficient. I've never been served a bacon and egg breakfast like this before. Six or more slices of deep fried, greasy bacon and salt was added to my sunny side up eggs. This breakfast plus coffee was over...$24 before the tip; most expensive and least satisfying ever!! Sorry. I truly hope this helps with continual improvement objectives.More
