After a day visiting Johnston Canyon & Lake Louise the Curry House provided beautiful food bringing a great day to a close. At our table we ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala. We also had Garlic Naan with poppadoms and mango dip. All of the food was deliciously prepared. Water was brought to the table without asking for it, the staff were attentive and courteous. The prices were moderate and represented good value for money.

Stopped in for dinner. It’s an upstairs restaurant without elevator, if that’s a concern. It was very busy on a Sunday evening. Staff was friendly and attentive. We had daal and mango fish curry. Both dishes were very good. We often dine out in Indian restaurants all over, and this was one of the better daals we had. Note to management: You need to take better care of the restrooms. They were not clean. In one stall, frustratingly, the toilet paper dispenser didn’t work. The stall door was difficult to open and close and was almost coming apart. One point deduction for the bathroom situation

We were in Banff for a week and had dinner at this restaurant on our first night and last night. It was that good! The restaurant is located on the second floor next to a Boston's Pizza. The service was polite and efficient. Most of the Banff businesses we visisted have eliminated social distancing and other COVID precautions but this place still had clear plastic panels dividing each table/seating area, which was nice. Interestingly, chill rap music was playing both times we were there. This music fit my tastes but I still found it amusing that it was playing at an Indian restaurant. Everything we ordered tasted great and we particularly enjoyed the Mango Fish. We had not seen this before, but it was quite delicious. On our second visit, we had the Bengali fish curry, which is probably more traditional. It was also tasty. The flavors of the various Indian spices came through. The owner gave us a sample of the mango pickle, which also gave a great complement to some of the sweeter dishes. The naan was freshly made and we particularly liked the garlic naan. The mango lassi and chai tea were good too. After we left, I wished I had tried the dessert (gulab jamun, milk balls in rose syrup). We will definitely eat here again next time we visit.

I don’t usually do a food review but this restaurant hands down has the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. I can safely say this was not Indian food and I would avoid this restaurant like the plague. Save your money and buy some chicken and a jar of curry sauce from the shop as you’ll thank me later for saving you your money. How this restaurant has “good reviews” I can only speculate. Either the commenters really have poor taste or just simply haven’t had good Indian food. If I was them I wouldn’t be able to stomach charging people for the food. Apologies if this seems harsh but unfortunately it’s true.

After looking at the rating, my mom and I came here thinking it’d be decent. The servers seemed nice. We sat down and noticed flies in our area. The cutlery was dirty with spots on the, we had to wipe down our plates as there was ?gunk on them - not sure how they were washed but we lost our appetite. My mom ordered chicken biryani and I ordered butter chicken. I had to pay $5 extra for rice. I’ve been to Indian restaurants many times (I love Indian food) and usually rice is included with butter chicken. When the server brought chicken biryani, we smelt an unusual whiff of rottenness. It definitely looked like it was left over from a while and warmed up (wish I took a photo to show you). We showed the server and he said it “was fine” and that maybe “we haven’t tried chicken biryani before”. In the end, my mom switched her meal with butter chicken, which was okay. I had the same and felt like there were small bones in there. We had been at another Indian restaurant down the road (Saffron) the day before and did not experience anything like this, plus it turned out to be cheaper. Overall, I do not recommend this place. I hope they learn from this.

This was not our first choice but now it’s our first choice for any Indian Cuisine in Banff. We went to nearby Masala Authentic cuisine first based upon google ratings but the customer service was very rude there and then we came here for dinner. Customer service of Curry house stands out. We came for dinner late around 9.45 PM and they accommodated us. When we were having dinner past 11 pm they were still accommodating families and children for sit down dinner. We ordered Pappadam, dal tadka, chana masala, butter paneer, aloo gobhi, onion, rice and naan. The aloo gobhi and butter paneer did stand out. The quantity served was large and we had to pack the chana masala between 6 of us. Good fresh food was served. The service was prompt even though it was fully packed. Would highly recommend this one for Indian cuisine in Banff not going by google reviews. Would come back visiting Banff again

We visited this restaurant during our recent trip to Banff in 1st week of June 2022, and were impressed by the excellent service, and overall quality and taste of all of the dishes we ordered. We visited the restaurant as a family (with our 2 teenage kids) after the excellent experience my wife had with the Dosas she had ordered on one of the days earlier in the week. Mr Shekar and Mr. Raj were very courteous, and the staff were very friendly, and the ambience was very inviting and pleasant. Both of them took extra efforts and ensured that our dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable. They were able to seat us quickly even though the restaurant was quite busy at that time. Our Paneer Pakora was crispy and fresh! Our kids loved their Chicken 65! The masala dosas and chutneys tasted quite authentic. We also enjoyed Garlic naans with Dal Makhani! In summary, we had a very gratifying experience, and would definitely return on our next visit to Banff in future, and I would happily and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy Indian cuisine in the town of Banff!

if you are looking for delicious Indian food, this is the place to be. We ordered Naan and Dal Makhani just to try them out and it was so good that we came back next day again for lunch. They dont let you stay hungry for more than 10mins max and by the time you settle down, you will have your food ready in your table. Fast service, excellent food and amazing chefs and service guys running the show.. Kudos to you guys !!.. for sure next time when we visit Banff we will come here again.

I may be spoiled by good Indian food chefs throughout my life, but this place didn’t prove me to serve Indian food at all. Service was quick and that was positive experience in this visit. We were a group of eight and plenty of different dishes were ordered, none of them was real Indian dish!

The food here is DELICIOUS. We live in Mexico but originally from London, Scotland, Venezuela and Mexico and two of us lived in India previously so a huge compliment as we know our curries 🤪🤪 It’s hard to get an authentic Indian meal when travelling but Raja (hope I got that right) and his team were excellent. Food quality was excellent, quantity was great and overall left 4 happy people, satisfied and wanting more. Two of our group actually took their left overs home for the next day which is a huge compliment :-). We will definitely be back 🍾🤩🍷🤪🇨🇦🇮🇳

My husband went out adventuring for something to eat later in the evening when we arrived in Banff while I unpacked. He came back with some Mango chicken and lentil soup. That Mango curry is some of the best food I've ever eaten, I've been craving it since I finished it.

We had dinner here and enjoyed our dining experience. Having been to India several years ago, we were reminded of our trip. Also, looking around the restaurant, several of the patrons were ethnically Indian, so we surmised that we came to the right restaurant! The fish curry that we ordered was very good and not too spicy (although you can order the level of spice that you want in any curry). We also had some appetizers that were excellent.

We (family of three) ate delicious authentic Indian food. We had goat curry and butter chicken and both tasted amazing and had the real Indian flavours. The service was also amazing and very friendly. If in Banff again we will definitely visit again.

Food in Banff tends to be on the expensive side, but this restaurant offered excellent value. We both like Indian, and we found our meal exceptionally good, and portion sizes more than adequate (we took 1/3 away for later). Staff and service were both very good. We would eat there again gladly if we are ever back in Banff.

we recently went to this restaurant and it was tucked away on the first floor so we were disappointed that we found it too late in the day. but the food was very good. they had a good selection of north indian and southindian food. the dosas were surprisingly yummy!! the north indian food was also well made and had taste without putting too much oil or masala. Since we traveled with kids it was perfect as they could also eat it. i would highyl recommend it over some of the otther indian restaurants there in banff.
