Jila Bakery is mainly a takeway place run by a family in a old Portuguese house. They are known for their Eclairs, biscuits & cakes. I sat down on a bench at their house and ate the Chocolate Éclair. Most of their products contain eggs,...so options for Vegetarians would be less. Takeaway Rating of Jila Bakery, Goa: Date: 16th October 2019 Time: 4:45pm Please check the rating for each dish we ordered based on various factors: 1) Chocolate Eclair – Rs. 30 Quality – 4/5 Portion Size – 4/5 Taste – 4.5/5 Value for Money – 4.5/5 Overall – 4.5/5 Do not miss this place when you are in Goa. Jila Bakey is awarded “Best Village Bakery” in India for a Reason and all its products confirms the same. I have a Sweet Tooth and just like Alton Ego (in Ratatouille), I can say the same about sweet Dishes: “I don’t like Food. I love...It…if I don’t Love it I don’t swallow” Now coming to review part. It is a House Business, where you will be greeted by members of the House. If you are moving from Margao to Ponda, you need to take a short detour towards Loutolim. Google map is very correct, about location. Without the map, it would have been quite tricky to find. All their products are paper wrapped. We tried the Eclairs (which need to be consumed on same day) and what Great Eclairs they are. From the texture to the Flavor, all are top notch. The cream oozing out from the crunchy wrap will take you to 7th Heaven. We brought some other products from there to Kolkata which included “Apple Strudel” (which is another must have. The cinnamon Flavored apple lingers for several days and will lure you to ask for more), A nut Flavored Cookie (sorry I forgot the name. It is of absolute correct balance of sticky sweetness and crunchiness. Each of my family members have loved it. A perfect gift to bring back Home from Goa) and The Most Famous Rich Plum Cake (well no doubt this is tasty, but I loved the other products better, It is very much my personal opinion.) I would request any foodie with sweet tooth to take this detour and have a taste of authentic Home Baked Goan bakery 5+/5 on RatingMore

I visited Jila after some online recommendation. Tucked in a corner in Margao the bakery is more a home and the feeling is just wow. I was glad to have had the best plum cake of my life. Would have loved to have the famous...eclairs but they were not available. The simplicity of the place is charming. Must visit. An old goa feel.More

If you're a foodie and want to try out best bakery products like Eclairs, Geneva pastries or Apple strudel then this place is a must-go in Goa. Located just near the Big Foot museum, in case you're in a sightseeing tour of Goa, this place...is a bit hard to locate at first especially if you're using maps to travel like us. But once you reach the place, all the hassle you had during travel melts down by the smell of baked products. I'd recommend eclairs to everyone even if you're a diabetic.More

Iv been to this place 5 times now, on each and every goa visit. Every time I am filled with child-like excitement :D Last visit I got so much stuff packed that my luggage was over weight by 5 KGS. Eclairs are a must have....At 12 rupees they are much better than anything you will find in even well rated bakeries. If u are a heavy eater like me, u can easily eat 4-5 in one go. They are just so yummy! Best when eaten fresh! Geneva pastries last long and make a good tea biscuit. Best to get a lot of them packed! Coconut cookies are another thing that lasts long and can be packed for take away. Can be too sweet for some, but the freshness of the coconut and the softness of the dough melts in the mouth. All their loaf cakes are mouth wateringly good! Also try apple strudel! Beef patties are good too! Small I'm size but have a lot of flavour. Domt last long though and must be eaten within a day! Taste great with ketchup. This place reminds one of how the most simple things are the most beautiful. Everything here is very cheap and beats most upscale bakeries in taste and quality. For most products like cakes and patties and cookies in bigger quantities u must call in advance, but be assured that if u go in the first half of the day you will find a lot of things in stock. all products are baked fresh, daily and get over by 4pm. The place is a family run Business and has minimum space to sit etc. It's run from a Goan house in a quaint locality off the highway by two very kind ladies. The amount of things I got packed on my last visit is seen the picture attachedMore

Visited Jila Bakery loacted in the Loutolim during my stay in Goa in April 2016. The bakery is loacted at a house and is not a typical bakery that we are used to seeing. We were received most cordially and given detailed information of the...various products. I choose to order the products and collect them 2 days later. We ordered a large quantity of Chocolate eclairs, geneva pastry, beef patties, mix buiscuits, melting moments and caramel cashew cake. Needless to say all the products were of the highest quality and the price was the most reasonable. Also, all the products were wonderfully packed which helped in carrrying them back home and distributing it to family members. They were a huge hit back home.More

This is a hidden gem. It is rumored that Jila's eclairs were flown to Delhi on Mrs Gandhi's special request and after visiting this place thrice and devouring almost four dozens of those eclairs I don't doubt these stories! This place can be a little...difficult to find for first timers but google map locates its accurately and so its not so difficult to find. They have eclairs, apple strudel, coconut cookies, beef patties and many more yummy things on offer. Usually eclairs and coconut cookies and a few other types of cookies are available when you visit, for the other things on the menu one has to place and order. They make the yummiest loaf cakes on order. The place is run by some really humble and simple people and its a joy visiting it again and again. The quality and and taste of their products is exceptional and the prices are mind boggling. This has to be my favorite bakery of all time!More
